Brickwork not looking so healthy

Not a clue how I haven't noticed it previously but the pictures don't look good
Its affected an area where the brick work looks newer
Looked at neighbours houses , there's haven't eroded to the extent mine have but they all have the black discolouration

Bricked an existing door up with different bricks.

OP, have you bricked up your back door ? If so that renders my helpful advices of kicking it in and torching the gaff null and void so sorry I can't help.

We had a similar issue with our 1930's semi-detatched. It turned out to be damp from the kitchen drain. We fixed the drain and used an acid brick wash to clean off the deposits.
