Bridge Too Far...

Bridge has had a poor start. That is undeniable. I never realised just how 1 footed he is, of course I knew he relied heavily on his left foot but not to the amazing extent that watching him every week reveals. It's evident even in his movement. Is his left leg longer than his right or something? :S

However, there have been many players who have had a shit start at a new club and have come good. Evra was quality for Monaco. Moved to the scum and looked bobbins. Now, sadly, he looks the best LB around. Bridge has only been here a while, and without a proper winger infront of him he can be exposed at time (Robinho tends to drift and allow Bridge to get doubled up on). Im sure with Petrov hugging the wing, keeping the oppositions right back in his own half, we'll see much improved performances from Bridge.

Can you please not post in this thread again as you are starting to talk sense!! lol

Petrov is probably the LEAST defensive minded player we have on the books!

In fact, what's the difference between what Petrov would be doing "hugging the wing" and Robby "hugging the wing"??

It's illogical and makes no sense!

Both players are there for outlets, yet one would get slated as 'lazy' and the other not!

Whats the difference? well, there'd be less of a difference, obviously, but we all know it isn't Rob's game. Not a single game has he hugged the wing. He isn't a winger. Petrov is and RB's are shit scared of his pace and directness. They don't like to leave him behind them, cos they know they'll never catch him. Watch how Petrov plays. when we have possession he intentionally comes deep to draw the RB towards the halfway line, lays it off, then bursts up the wing looking for the return. It's one dimensional, but it's almost unstoppable. Just watch the games and you'll see that Bridge tends to get doubled up on when Robinho wanders into the middle. Petrov doesn't have to be defensively minded. Makes sense to me. Besides, it's only part of my argument

So what happens when Robby gets 'doubled up' on?? Isn't he creating necessary space? As does Petty when he "hugs the wing". The effect is exactly the same, so I don't see what your argument is!

Don't like him. Too weak on the ball, not tenacious enough when challenged. Too rare he comes away with the ball on a 50/ 50. Crossing is awful, as a rule. Overrated.

For me, I'd rather see garrido back, but we all know how stubborn Hughes is. Garrido links up better with Robinho, on the left.

I don't what it is about Bridge, but I think he's not going to improve us any more than what he's giving us.

I'm fooked off with him as a buy.

Spose you blame him for all the chances we missed today aswell then??
FFS get a grip!!!

Crawl back under your stone, you slimey f*ck! Who the f*ck are you??

Amazing.

Well that is your problem, because it is clear as daylight.
