Brighton (A) | Post-Match Thread

We didn’t deal with that well.

The ref was terrible, their fans made a racket and boo’d a lot, we had 10 men for most of it… but we were quite shit as well.

Disappointing, but only slightly.
It could turn out to be really good preparation for an unfriendly ref in the CL Final. Getting upset pointlessly is a waste of energy and becomes a distraction. If it's going against you, the team have to keep their heads and play the nuts off the opponent.

Disgusting. Pep needs to call VAR and that refereeing performance out.

Absolutely corrupt.

Some of players also need to fucking appeal.

It's a pen at the end, as it was a red on Gundo.
Yep, first red isn't even a foul, maybe welbeck on Cancelo but definitely not the other way.
Then did var even check for offside?
We'll see it after the game once they've had time to manipulate the image.

Far from ideal preparation for the final.

Going down to 10 men after 10 minutes for fuck all probably wasn't part of the plan.

The performance was a mixture of "dont get injured", "this is a huge inconvenience" and general can't be arsedness.

There was one 5 minute period where we only had 4% possession. This has probably never happened before. Ever.

The ref being bent as fuck didnt help either. That 100% penalty at the end that wasn't given was rum as fuck.

Ultimately, it was a dead rubber and meaningless so on to the next one.

One game of importance left, but watching that shite from the ref and particularly VAR, all I could think of was I can’t wait until the season’s over. I’m sick of that kind of crap.
Why as well. What was to be gained by screwups over tonight?

Fucks up preparations I suppose, but I’m sick of it. Summer can’t come quick enough.

Just one great performance left lads. That’s all I want.
Champions League glory and then I'm retiring. And by retiring I mean checking the transfer forum every ten minutes.
