The fans are back has been the narrative all day.
What better way than if Brighton beat the mercenaries.
Refs told to make a game of it. Hence the red card for us and not for them.
I think the things that people don't pick up on is that most of the time it's not the big decision that fuck you over. Its the constant little fouls that are not given when you are down to 10 men that kill you. Rather than have a free kick on the half way line where you can push out and get a breather you are chasing back out of position because the ref hasn't given the foul. They know this but because its not a big decision its never picked up

Yup - Classic 'game management'. Often goes unnoticed, especially since VAR came in and changed the focus.

I love Fernandinho. But Rodri along with Stones & Dias are one of the standout reasons we won the league so easily.. He was outstanding for months.

Be fair. They said it looked like he took him out, but then VAR said it was not a pen, so he hadn't.

It's ridiculous the managers are too afraid to call out the refs for fear of being punished. Where's the accountability? How are they ever going to improve if you protect them from any criticism?

Have to agree. I thought there was going to be a thing a few years ago where they came out and explained their decisions. What happened to that?

Even if it's just down to poor refereeing, there's (usually) too much as stake for that now. Even a smaller club finishing a louple of places higher up can mean an extra payout so it does matter.

The thing that pisses me off more thsn anything is VAR was supposed to put an end to all this sort of crap, but if anything it's just made it worse. Tangle of arms = red card, stamp on Jesus' foot not even a pen. Ok, but why?
