Brighton (A) | Post-Match Thread

Not bothered about the booing.
Not even bothered about the ref, who IMO was utterly incompetent rather than corrupt.
Not bothered about the loss. We've already won the league and the match was, for us, nothing more than a warm up for the CL final.
What I'm highly fucked off about is Brighton trying to clog our players off the field and injure them, with us only 11 days off what is probably the most important final in our history.
I lost total respect for a team I've genuinely respected for the type of football they play and rooted for as a neutral time and again in the past.
Fuck off Brighton.
Glad that unlike many of your peers, you don't suggest corruption on the part of the ref. Let's face it, he was pretty shit at trying to influence the game in Brighton's favour, given he failed to give the cast iron penalty for the Garcia handball, when we really needed it. He's just a shit ref. We've suffered badly (two reds) at his, and fat Jon Moss' hands ourselves this season.

I can't accept the suggestion that Brighton set out to kick City. Loads of you seem adamant that it was the case, but it simply didn't happen. There was ONE poor challenge - that could well have seen a red on another day, in the game. The foul count in the game was basically level (13/11). And the useless twat that made that challenge is as weak as fuck. I've not seen him make a challenge in the 3 years the hopeless wage-thief has been with us. Not a chance he'd have deliberately hurt someone - doubt he could be arsed - he's like our Mahrez, but without any of the talent.

Anyway - best of luck (genuinely) in the CL final. All City in our house, that night.

PS, can you please keep hold of Eric Garcia, and play him in both the Brighton games next season? Cheers.

I think some of the sensitivity could have been and probably was amplified by the fact that we had had a player sent off and then what we saw as a nailed on red card for a studs first high tackle that could have caused a serious injury to one of our most important players was denied. Their were other dubious decisions, notably the Jesus foul. There was a perception that the Brighton players cottoned on to the fact that the ref was weak/biased/inept (take your pick) and took advantage at a time when the uppermost thing on City minds was keeping our players fit and injury free for the CL final.
