Brighton (A) - Post-Match Thread

All complaining was about Pep sitting on his arse and not doing any changes when anyone with half a brain could see the lads were totally knackered. Glad you are entertained though :-)
I hope you were also grateful for the 1st half display because that’s thanks to Pep ;). And I hope you were mentioning that at HT, instead of only complaining about Pep when things go wrong.

If the team was knackered, then how were we able to dominate as soon as they scored? Foden, Bernardo, Walker, Rodri seem fine then. Maybe you have more physical reports that the staff. The reality is that Pep wanted us to control the game, to slow the tempo, and to rest for the next games. It didn’t work well, and then the team changed and dominated again.

Easy enough to play when you're 3-0 down and the team you're playing manage the game and have already won. Routine really.
I really don’t think we were managing the game. That’s just an excuse. We manage the game by having the ball under control, and we took until the last 5 or 10 mins before we got that control back. It wasn’t game management, it was us not being at it and a lot of tired legs. Even Phil said after the game they are not happy with the 2nd half and we dropped our levels. It wasn’t our intention, we were just complacent.

Good win, game over at HT. players knackered 2nd half after a lot of games and flogged by International teams. Defended well and even their goal was silly

Great first half, frustrating second half, but 3 points away at a tough side after a midweek Champions League game. Can't be too upset about that can we

How was the lead up to the pen when the guy was clearly offside not given ?

Then realised that Tierney was the VAR official..

You're right managing the game is the wrong phrase. Concede the ball, maybe. I don't think we were good but you don't need to be when you've won the game at half time. You've bought yourself the privilege to have a poor 45 minutes. It's more a comment on Brighton really.

I've seen that left back for Brighton a couple of times, and he looks the business

Carried our form from Tuesday into the game ,we dropped 10% in the second half, Brighton are a very good team and played us off the pitch for 35 mins, their goal woke us up a bit and controlled the last 10, all in all a very good result
