In the minority with Jack as my MOTM however I thought his effort and never say die attitude when a lot of others were not at it shone for me.
Showed great anticipation, winning balls high up the pitch before the striker could get near them. Hopefully his injury is just a niggle.Yeah, Laporte didn't put a foot wrong imo. Quite a few players had off days, but he was very good and gets my vote.
He’s come up trumps for us in big moments in his career has Mahrez, including scoring goals in a CL semi final to get us to our first ever final.Hes not even a flat track bully now
Something called the double-jeopardy rule. If a player makes an attempt at the ball but fouls instead then a penalty is (or at least should be) awarded but the player will not be red-carded as that would be deemed as puninshing twice for the same offence.Despite the assist for Erling's first, and the save at the post it can't be Eddie 'cos I ain't giving man of the match to anyone who comes on the field wearing a clog on one foot and a wellie on t'other. The FBs were a little flakey, Ruben has lost some solidity, Bernie was everywhere and in the right place for the pen (why didn't the guy get sent off 'cos Bernie was just about to thump the ball into the top corner - goal scoring opp? - Riyad missed one I could have wafted in with my cap, It's a toss up between Kev, de Viking, or Jack. It's Erling - I just love the way that guy just bounced off him, and then claimed a foul!
The guy should be sent off if the pen is missed. If it's scored he can stay on! Yer can get sent off for a foul a yard outside the box, score from the free kick and the offender just has time to turn round before going down the tunnel and see his side concede, miss the pen and he's laughing all the way to full time. All for the difference of a few inches. The LotG have been so fucked, mangled, twiddled around in the FArce, IFAB, FIFA and UEFA wind tunnel that the dear set of laws are like a fuckin' collander.Something called the double-jeopardy rule. Don't disagree mate but he's off it more often than not. He doesn't start the big games so he needs to prove himself in games like yesterday. He’s come up trumps for us in big moments in his career has Mahrez, including scoring goals in a CL semi final to get us to our first ever final.
He was our top scorer in all comps last season and was definitely first choice on the wings, even more so than Foden.
He’s having an off season, which everyone can and does do from time to time.
The problem is, because of his lack of pace, when he’s bad, he’s very very bad.
They changed the rule so teams aren’t punished double for it.Despite the assist for Erling's first, and the save at the post it can't be Eddie 'cos I ain't giving man of the match to anyone who comes on the field wearing a clog on one foot and a wellie on t'other. He’s well off it this season, he wouldn’t be starting in league games or knockout champs league games for me at all.Don't disagree mate but he's off it more often than not. He doesn't start the big games so he needs to prove himself in games like yesterday.
Another rule that is variable. Some psycho can come in and clean you out across yer ribs. Gotta be a sending off and a pen. Full back making a goalie save and full length tips a cert round the post -banother sending off but clatter someone to the ground just as they are about to pull the trigger . . . . . ! Allows refs to have a quick look at the shirt badge . . . . . I was born cynical! They changed the rule so teams aren’t punished double for it.
If you make a cynical challenge with no attempt to play the ball then the ref is allowed to award a red card as well.
Personally I like the rule.
