Brighton and Hove Albion PL (H) | Post Match Thread

The Bernardo situation was strange to say the least. Not playing, coming on, being on for less than a nano second then saying he wanted to come off before the physio seen him, hobbling off then walking quite freely around the pitch. Just strange. I might of misinterpreted it but it didn't look good.
He was brought on in haste and didn't warm up for long.

He's playing the same as when he set the goal scoring record. Did it annoy you then? If so fair enough. I think he plays a particular way and it worked when the team was working. Though it does annoy me his ambling sometimes.
Actually, yes it did annoy me. Aguero was brilliant but Pep improved him by making him work.
Haaland, 2x golden boot winner does not work hard at all.
Why is he above criticism ?
Likewise Pep.

From Les McDowell till today, seen some shit from City but today it was the whole team,The main problem is lack of pace through the whole team ,then we bring on Silva, and Foden and Foden first SEVEN touches were his usual passing backwards, then we bring on kev.no pace any where and if Pep can,t see it,then we are up shit creek,All Eleven had the mobility of a street lamp, pathetic, came out disgusted.
You should do like I do and go in disgusted, that way you don’t feel as bad when they serve up disjointed tripe.

What the bloody hell do they do between games?

He did look like he was limping tbf.

I don't actually know what this post is meant to say.

We are having a dodgy season after unprecedented success. We are still missing Rodri, Bobb, Ake, Akanji and Stones. By Pep's admission, we entered the season with a small squad that has been hit with injuries.

We have begun a rebuilding process. No team has a divine right to unbroken success.
Bobb injured is clutching at straws and we had 2 expensive centre backs playing today, we can't play 5 of them. Last season when Rodri got a red and missed 3 games we lost all 3, although they were all away, we hadn't lost until then. If the system fails due to losing one player it isn't great management.

Pep didn't even acknowledge him when he got back to the bench!

Chelsea away and West Ham away first week or so, we were suburb and that was without Rodri. I thought we would piss it again after that start. How wrong could I be!
crazy right, even some of the other games around then it was fine.

Yep, so it just goes to show that we are a one player team, Rodri. He got crocked we fell to pieces

linked I'm sure

He looks disinterested mate, hasn't a clue how to turn this around
Can't disagree with this - I just hope there's somebody he respects, with the balls to tell him to pull himself together, ideally in time to at least start to turn the corner in pre-season <fingers-crossed emoji>.
Maybe hand over defensive coaching to a specialist and leave them to it?

He was injured we spotted it 5 mins before he signalled to the bench they called Phil to get ready Don’t think Bernie wanted to come off in the end probably already easing but maybe he has something, they knew about and he aggravated it

Let's not forget we've had two games in two weeks plenty of preparation time and have failed on both accounts. What are we doing in training, because it's not working, nothing is changing
Probably just about ticking over. No tactical pr physical shift is happening this late in the season.

My theory is that once the players realised the title was out of reach, they mentally checked out of the season. Some of them are probably not training well, recovering well, sleeping well etc. As a professional players, every little thing you do or don't do affects your performance on the pitch.
Yeah, that's probably it too. I don't know. Grealish has been in the doghouse for the whole season. I think they're just tired and mentally done. And now we've got this Club World Cup here in the US. It never ends.

Good grief he didn’t look one bit disinterested to me was his usual self on the touchline was fuming about Hooper and was seriously berating the fourth official then lectured Hooper at full time Disinterested should have been disappearing down the tunnel

I don't expect miracles and people have got to realise it does take time for players to bed in, especially young players. Not a great watch, but what can fans expect, Ake, Stones, Akanji, Rodri, Bob, Ederson all injured. I would presume Bernardo, Foden and Kevin weren't fully fit with being on the bench.
No team on the planet could loose that amount of quality and function to City's standards of the last decade. There is no such thing as ready made replacements. Every player has different quality's and these quality's will either flourish or stay static, that's the case for these very young players recently arrived.
We have one thing in our favour and that is, not playing every 3 days and hopefully have our strongest uninjured line up for the run in. !!!!

All empires eventually bring down themselves, through decadence and self indulgence. We’re now seeing the result of some staggering arrogance and complacency on and off the pitch since the treble.
Might not be just the dressing room that needs a clearout and major refresh this summer. Coaching (especially defensively and set pieces), recruitment and scouting teams all clearly need a lot of improvement.

Injuries is a piss poor excuse for the level we are at over a period of time . Doku and savinho are as dangerous to us as to the opposition with there non existent tracking back . Our player of the season will be a player bought in January . Looks as if nobody gives a fuck and a manager who looks as if he has no idea how to turn it around .
Genuinely think that the squad don’t want to play for pep
