Brighton and Hove Albion PL (H) | Post Match Thread

I don’t think that’s fair on Doku. His end product disappointing as it often is but he was our main attacking threat and created a lot of danger. Dreadful is not the right description for me. Hard working and dangerous but frustrating more like it.
I agree but I'm finding that for whatever sociological reason these days the average person won't express an opinion tinged with emotion if it's not extreme. Its like no one experiences a range of emotions anymore: everything is "horrible, dreadful, terrible, impossible". Its kind of tired and boring tbh.

People are disrespecting a very good Brighton team who on another day could easily have scored 4 even 5.
Pep needs to stop praising shite performances. It's all becoming a little tedious. Love the guy to bits but fuck me bore off with 10 cup finals, 9 cup finals blah blah, blah.
I have NEVER criticised Pep but blind faith is not what we need.
Apart from the header did we even have a shot on target 2nd half?? Teams have worked us out. We are easy to play against. Do not even get me started on some of the players because bar 1 or 2 they were abysmal.
Absolute wank.
This. It’s actually a good result based on how we played and where the team is but doesn’t sit well with some.

Doku and Savinho (and Nunes) are a huge drop off after Sterling, Sane and Mahrez. And I'm including Sterling as his best was far better than the three wingers currently at the club.
Ran down blind alleys, crossed into the stands, and fell over his own feet. Yes, that's him, and he still contributed more than the three we currently have, I'd include Grealish as well but apparently it's OK if he has poor goal/assist figures. No it fucking isn't. It was OK for David Silva because he was generally involved earlier in the build-up, but Grealish's prime contribution seems to be getting fouled in the treble season.
Today was summed up in two ways:
1) We were happy to salvage a draw against a team that lost 7-0 at Forest.
2) BHA had a break in he second half and the winger had three players breaking with him. We had a break about the same time; Doku had the ball out wide, Haaland was central but some yards back, and the rest were just crossing the halfway line.
Oh, and Simon Hooper, while pretty much crap all game, wasn't a significant contributing factor.

Dreadful ?

Not even going to try to respond to that ?

Are u serious ?
He was likely the most dynamic threat we had but somehow to many football Hellen Kellers on this board he was dreadful.

No he didnt have a great end product but many times when he skint his defender and bombed forward the end product he was meant to deliver to were nowhere in sight.

Still think playing 2 wing is a daft idea. Bernie did more on the right for 20 minutes than Savi and he's not a winger.

Shame we didn’t get the win but Brighton are a good team. It wasn’t a bad result as they did have the better chances in the second half. 6 points from the next two games if we want top 4. Come on City

In one. And when success isn’t guaranteed anymore and we are going through what we are right now, the slapped arses turn on the team.

I take solace knowing they are not proper City fans.
When has success ever been guaranteed ? Most people see the good and the bad and the stuff in between and comment accordingly. We're not very good atm and the majority of posts reflect that.

The Rico experiment needs to end, offers nothing in the middle apart from passing sideways and is too weak at Right back unfortunately. Would even try Nico O’Riley there instead.
He gets picked on every game. He is negating any positive momentum on that flank with zero link up with Savi who is himself a defensive liability.

At this stage, they should be 3rd (Doku) and 4th (Savinho) choice. Getting minutes and the odd starts but not starting anywhere near the volume of games that they do….

Savinho 2 goals in 37 games, and he’s our first choice winger (by minutes played). Where do you even start with that!! Criminal this has been allowed to happen….
Doku runs very quickly and creates a bit of excitement by tying defenders up in knots. I'm sure there's supposed to be something more to his game though.
