Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | Post Match Thread

Not going to win anything with our defence at the moment. Without Gvardiol there's a severe lack of actual defensive ability. Khusanov did well but ultimately fucked up with a pointless foul for their first - he's a young player, you can accept that. Dias failed to step up and play them off for the second after Stones gave it straight to them. Ait-Nouri suspect defensively but more worryingly totally ineffective going forward so far. Nunes, don't make me laugh. Lewis isn't a defender either but at least he's not giving away penalties and throwing games away.

Feel sorry for Trafford, deserved much more.

Those calling for Pep out, if you can't name a manager to replace him then shut the fuck up. You think there's a manager that can win the title with Nunes playing at right back? He knew that guy wasn't up to it within weeks. And don't give me Delph or Zinchenko. Nunes' problem isn't that he isn't a defender - it's that he's stupid.

Recruitment hasn't changed a bit. Too complacent and focusing on the wrong areas. If it's a money issue, then signing both Khusanov and Reis was a mistake when we have 3/4 centre backs who need to go sooner rather than later. Should have been a right back and a centre back in this summer.

Haaland needs to look at himself too. Should have had a hat trick in the first half and the game is over.

The positive is that Rodri controlled the game for the first hour until his legs went. Pep should have been brave enough to bring Nico on after that.
Peps record is phenomenal. HOWEVER, he wanted the new signings and as far as I can see we are worse outfit now than last season.

I’m not sure Pep is getting the players he wants

He had a perfect relationship with Txiki not so sure with Viana

These players we have bought don’t look like a Pep player
Maybe planning for the future! I didn’t see the game talked to my dad said we dominated upto their first goal but too much reliance on Haaland to score

Go on then, who are you replacinf him with? The serial winner pep, who are you replacing him with?

It’s nothing to do with being a ‘massive blue’. It’s to do with not being a big cry baby just because we aren’t replicating the feats that are simply impossible to replicate.

And I note the use of the word massive. Hmmm.

So Peps irreplaceable? We've become United with Ferguson?

Ye let's write our LB off after 2 and half games, bwahahaha.

Unbelievable.

I'm logging off.

Ill just say....Some of our fans need to remember where we came from. Can't always be the best, great players age and leave, new ones arrive and need time. It's 3 fucking games in and you'd think we've already been relegated.

Its absolutely laughable.

Have a great Sunday, I know I will. Win or lose have a booze CTIFD
Remove have a ...with plenty of.....

Total control for 60 minutes, should have been 3-0 up at haltime.

Total lack of control for 30 minutes, could have been far worse but for James Trafford.
Not even sure of that. It did look hectic when on the ball from the start. Or at least in comparison to two seasons ago.

By that logic every player who plays for small teams can do it.
Your logic is shit. Slagging a player off after 2 and half games in a new team and environment is fucking pathetic.

Slagging City off for signing 2 players from Wolves, 2 very good prospects as well (Nunes was) Wolves are a Premier League side, you made it sound like we signed em from fucking Rochdale lol

Pathetic.

On the hour mark the tide had turned and we needed some fresh legs and game management. Instead emperor Pep sat on his hands whilst City burned. When he did belatedly turn to the subs he made the wrong choices anyway. The bright spot is we now know for sure the era of domination is over in fact I’m not even sure where our next win is coming from. The cup competitions will offer a distraction of sorts. It’s now a frustrating waiting game until Pep leaves. Then it’s proper transition.

We had more than enough chances in that first half to put that game to bed and we wasted them. We weren’t even good, Brighton were shite.

Their manager spotted the shiteness and made a risky move, 4 subs at the same time and we didn’t react at all. Pep can’t legislate for stupidity (Nunes), but he did pick him… what he can do is change things up, but he just refuses to and it is causing us issues. He has to find another way. We made 2 subs to do exactly the same things as those they replaced.

We don’t look fit, we don’t look hungry, there’s no arrogance, no graft and no desire.

Khusanov, apart from a silly challenge was decent, as was Rodri for an hour until his legs went, Marmoush was alright in spells, I’d like to see him play centrally and Trafford made some very good saves.

Overall just not good enough. It’s on Pep to sort it.
