Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | Post Match Thread

No leadership. No spark. Nobody is scared of us anymore.
Why would they be? Defend the 18 yard box and wait for the sideways bollocks to break down then hit them over the top.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again. Like the blokes who don't want to think too hard who defend Pep FC at all costs.

Mentality of a one legged pigeon that bunch of clowns. No need for a new right back when you have tactically astute players like Nunes there.
Same as last season, let the game drift 2nd half. Allowed them back in to the game when they were doing nothing, kept conceding stupid free kicks around our box....
That was an abysmal 2nd half performance.
Dias came on and was as shit as ever, thankfully we've not just handed him an extended contract.
Pep is turning into later stages Wenger, thinks his tactics still work, thinks certain players are better than they really are and buying rank inconsistency in the transfer market.
I'd like to know what the plan was for that 2nd half because it didn't work.
Trafford decent, Khusanov very good until that stupid foul conceded...
Ait Nouri was utterly abysmal...

Absolutely woeful display second half that.

Lacking in invention and more importantly bollocks.

We are so lightweight now. This team is not winning trophies.

Ait Nouri was awful, Nunes a brainless idiot and the midfield completely missing. Add the dreadful second half Bobb and Haaland performances to that and this is what you get. What are we doing trying to sit on a 1-0 lead? We are not good enough to do that!

Peps subs once again were useless. He is losing the plot too.

Toothless.
Any team show us a bit of energy we just buckle.
Absolutely fuck all up front.
I think the era is well and truly over, sounds dramatic but most of the players can not play peps system, I think the time is coming for the next manager. Im assuming the club behind the scenes know what they are doing with the process and these players will be better suited to a new style but something is massively off.

It’s a shame I’m not a betting man.

I knew City would collapse in the 2nd half and Brighton would win.

Absolutely wank on every level.

They are unfit, not conditioned enough to cope in PL games. Exactly the same as last season. The state of some of them that last 20 minutes was fucking diabolical.

The pattern of play is extremely same ish. All the time. There is nothing different or spontaneous. It’s easy to read and defend against.

There is no fight, no roar when we concede. I was sat here waiting for the 2nd because it had it written all over it. A very worrying acceptance from the players.

Carry on like this and this team will struggle for mid table.

Only bright spots for me were Trafford and Khusanov who both had very good games.

City's defense is catastrophic. All the players, without exception, are bad. The worst thing about the current City team is Pep himself. When he responds by saying, "I like passing and I want my team to make a thousand passes!!!" This is a stubborn person who sees the problem and doesn't want to understand that he has to make changes.

the new full back from Wolves is useless. Offers nothing forward an a defensive liability

Soft, slow and boring

Exactly the same as last season.

As soon as Bernardo was made captain I knew this season would be fucking hard work. He was done at this level last year.

Nunes, utter fucking wank, certainly as a right back. Lewis even worse there though. We desperately need to buy the best available, regardless of cost.

Our wingers are ineffective. Offer almost zero goal threat.

Have to give Ait-Nouri time, only his third game. Was shit today.

Khusanov, everyone raves about him but I don’t see it. He’s just rash and impulsive. Need to buy Mark Guehi.

We had another shocker of a transfer wing trying to save money. If we’d signed Guehi, Livramento and Kerkez we’d be much stronger.

Very poor, unambitious and weak in the transfer market and on the pitch.

The 'Happy Clappers' said some of us were overreacting after the Spurs defeat, but we know what we saw. We always lose to Spurs but last week's loss was the first time they dominated us for 90 minutes. We have lost our aura and Pep is now being consistently out-coached by mid-table managers. Pep needs to figure something out, and fast

Fair reflection of where we are. Can be decent in spells, but not efficient / ruthless enough when on top. Defensively, absolutely piss weak - both tactically and individually. Mentally, embarrassing - so easily rattled.
As for the quality from the bench - fuck me. A million miles away.

Think the biggest factor is mentality. We’re not hungry enough at the moment and even being 2% off creates these type of performances.

Once we’re wounded, we don’t recover like we used to.

The work rate, even when winning was sp poor.
Their winner highlighted all that is wrong with this team
