Moaning cunts asking for Pep out. Who are you replacing him with?

It’s 3 games in. Not the best start but again, it’s 3 games in.

Once the window closes tomorrow we will settle and get our mojo off and running.

Pep out? Wankers.
100% agree….absolute madness to want Pep out 3 games into the season, fair weather cunts.

Grealish four assists, nice to know we are now only paying him £4m a year not to play for us, wonder how much of his £100m fee we have left to pay. Super super Jack!

Whilst there are still some obvious gaps in the squad / first eleven, we have the personnel to win games like today. Genuinely feel that it is now time for cool heads and not reactionary behaviours from Pep, the hierarchy or us. The rags pushed ‘panic’ during Moyes’ stint and are still only a couple of signings away…

I’m not a happy clapper, I don’t think? Just feel that with the January and early summer signings, it is going to take a bit more time. If we descend into rag-like behaviour, we will get rag-like outcomes.

There is definitely a psychological hangover from last season, which is a factor, when things seem to run against us and, obviously, the media are happy to oblige and reinforce the ‘here we go again’ trope.

We were never going to dominate, without challenges forever. Arsenal and the Scousers are also both in better shape than us, currently.

I’m still of the opinion that we have the best man in charge and, having read the Martí Perarnau books, feel that Pep will be beside himself with anger. Even if this proves to be the beginning of his swansong season (hope not), he’ll want to maintain his incredible legacy.

He’s also earned the right to be given as much time and resources as he needs. Sorry, can’t identify with some of the comments on here today.
Like everyone else, I’m thoroughly passed off with the result but feel that some of the comments today are more than a little crass and lot more than a little raggish.

We've had games like that first half early in the season before and went on to just change gears in the season. But you just don't see it anymore, the guys from last season are carrying some kind of trauma and i don't think it can be fixed without throwing the majority of them. Tactics are the same, but the players are just a shadow of what they were.
A new manager fixes that.

How many times have we seen a PL team in a spiral.

Onky for a new manager to come in and they play 10 times better.

The players are.bored with Pep and his boring pass pass pass for no sake of passing game.

It is blindingly obvious that we need to change our system. Occasionally we try to go forward quickly but not often enough, we are slow, predictable and boring. Unfortunately I doubt that Pep will change or evolve from his preferred system which will continue to enable teams to get the better of us, just every so often we will win by 3 or 4 but will also lose/draw far too many games to be competitive

Well, I had high hopes of this season. I really did. Reset, new players, new coach, renewed hunger in Pep. Anger and hunger in the players.

There's just no way to dress that one up. The most disturbing thing to me is that it was eerily like our games in our worst period last season. Trundling along, more or less dominating a match, maybe leading, against a team playing worse than us. You could see the holes in our game, but we were being let off by the poorness of the opposition. Until we weren't. (I'm not talking about the good teams — Liverpool, Arsenal, Real, they all just smashed us, from first to last). Then completely folding like a wafer in the second half or the last fifteen minutes of the second half. Being sliced through repeatedly, at will, by a team that we had more or less managed for 45 minutes or so. Please don't say it's this player or that player. And please, enough with this boring mantra about the RB situation. Yes, we do need a better right back. We could get the best right-back in the world, and it wouldn't change a fucking thing about today.

There is a problem with the whole team and its attitude. It's not this or that player.

We should have gone hell-for-leather and killed that game in the first half when Brighton were playing really poorly. And in other times, we would have.
The stats are damning. We continued to control possession. We always do. Win or lose. But Brighton had one shot — one — on or off target for the whole of the first half. They then had six shots on target and several off in the second half. They completely turned the shots on/off target tally round. But for some blindingly good saves by Trafford, that's a thrashing today. Brighton are not prime Barcelona. They are a useful team. Two, three, four seasons back we were going one-nil up against teams like that, then compounding it with a second late in the first half or in the second half, and then quietly managing out the game.

There is a fundamental problem with nearly the whole team and its attitude.

The second half was tough to watch - poor subs, poor mistakes, and ultimately we paid the price. But this is exactly when our club needs us most. We can’t turn on the players or the manager after everything they’ve given us. These are the same people who delivered the best footballing memories of our lives, and they’ll do it again at some point.

Now’s the time to back them - not slate them. Through the highs and the lows, we stick by our own - we've been in far worse places than this. Let's get that South Stand bouncing again for the Derby.

MCFC.

Hurzeler had 3 games vs Pep in PL, won two times at home and drew at Etihad. Pep cannot beat him.

The thing is, WHY have CITY become this ?
Complacency, sentimentality and just missing on some guys too.

And I don’t like how angry I’m getting thinking that we let Kevin walk with some of the guys that we seem unwilling to part with taking up spots in the squad. And in the starting eleven.

While it was pretty clearly a bad idea, I can excuse listening to Pep and running it back last year after the 4th on the bounce. Given how that season went though, there are a bunch of guys who should have been gone by June 15 who are still here, and still playing.

As some have said with Eddie in goal we lose more heavily, so well played JT.

Both fullbacks were seriously exposed today. Not surprising as one of them isn't a FB. However Ait Nouri was being done for pace again and again.

Stones did a lot of backing off. So for me Khusanov was the best defender and it's always comforting to know that someone with serious pace can make that kryptonite ball over the top slightly less lethal.

Bernardo is done I am afraid. He is now charging around in frustration as I think he knows he's done. Tidy return from Rodri. Reinjders is not fully up to speed.

Bobb and Marmoush had their moments but were inconsistant. Bobb has trickery but is very lightweight. Haaland could have, probably should have scored more than one.

Brighton manager wins the battle over Pep as his 4 subs made the difference.

If we take our chances we could be in the top 6 and it will help to get Gvardiol and Foden fit.

But for me the root of the problem is mental. Pep now has players that he has never had before. ie players not so comfortable on the ball but more direct. It started with Haaland, Mamoush, Savinho, Reinders and I would say Gonzales too. But we appear to be playing 50% ticky taca and 50% Kloppball. So I can imagine Pep is unhappy.

The players don't seem as determined. Either that or the other teams players are just fitter and stronger.
Trafford had a very good game particularly given his mistake last week. Easily our MOTM.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could handle being poor.

Reckon it's time the club and Pep had serious conversations. We're going nowhere and from what we've already seen top 4 looks well beyond what we're able to achieve

The rest of the league has caught up. Managers have figured us out a year ago. Our build up play is like watching paint dry and it's no longer enjoyable to even watch us play, win, lose or draw

The life has been sucked out of the game at this club. Slow, sterile and boring. We have some amazingly fast explosive players but they are made to play in a system that completely strips away their talent. Which is fair enough when the system is working but it certainly ain't anymore.

We aim to be going far in Europe every season and emulating the likes of Madrid but playing the way we do week in, week out and now season after season means we're more Atletico than Real.

I love Pep, he's given me some of the greatest times of my life, but nobody is beyond criticism or has an unlimited shelf life. We need a different direction.
One of the best posts I’ve read - only thing to add would be Pep and the club should have had serious conversations after the CL win - regarding the 2 year extension

So you’re one of them. Who are you replacing Pep with, bright spark?
Anyone. Firstly I’m not paid millions to make them decisions but I’ll flip a question back on you. Given our resources. The money spent last Jan and the summer. Are you saying that the shit that’s been served up for a year now is the best possible with this squad of players? The answer is no which means there’s something deeper than simply players. That’s the man in the dugout setting us to play some of the slowest and boring football I’ve seen in a long time
