Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | Post Match Thread

100% agree….absolute madness to want Pep out 3 games into the season, fair weather cunts.
It's not JUST THIS SEASON.

Yes we got over the line for top 4 last seaosn. But our performances were shite in generally.

Its not about losing, winning or drawing games anymore. It's more about performances. And they have been abject in the main!! And total continuation of the last 12 months.

We are boring. Laboured. Passive and weak. With zero creativity.

It is all about quality. We had some incredible players just 2 or 3 years ago. We have Rodri and Haaland, Stones too, maybe Foden. Rodri has had a year out, Stones almost as bad, if you know what I mean, Foden now basically missing again, and Haaland is just a bit off right now. After this lot, it looks like a massive drop off in quality from what we had, it's off a cliff. The mixed bag that these four are, for one reason or another, means we are desperately short. We are not going to have a good season, plain as day.

Alt Nouri was the worse player on the park today so saying he is surrounded by bang average players is a poor excuse.
He is lazy at best

Disagree. That’s the player we bought. He looked exactly like the player we bought.

The issue is he’s looking like it on our shitshow with no help from the LW and a middle that just goes awol.

Some will tell you that’s fine.

But if you keep buying average you just might look it.

I want pep out. He’s stale, boring and going to watch my club has felt like a chore. Not from not winning, but from the shit boring football he gives us weekly. Where’s the pride in losing with a whimper? Where’s the attacking threat. Last week we were two down at home and at no point in the second half even came close to knocking on the door. Only shady thing is your delusion.
Again, who are you replacing him with? And don’t say ‘anyone’.

Where are we going matey ??? Pep and City are dead in the water right now

LIverpool Arsenal will not lose more than 4 games this season
We are going on to the next match. Just as we have always done.
I'm as gutted as anyone, but there are a lot of very embarrassing posts on here tonight.

I went to watch Tranmere, yesterday. I haven't been before. Fans have seen them go up, and seen them fall, just as we watched with City in bygone times. They lost, and the fans cheered them off, clapped the manager, and went on home. I have no doubt they'll have a whinge and a moan to each other but it felt proper.

We have all been given an incredible journey with the best players and unbelievable results and records.
It is pretty obvious that we are in the midst of a transition that will take time. Whether that transition is the right call or not will be seen over the whole season and beyond, not three games in with barely a pre-season to our name (I do think that was an error).

Three games in fans slagging off young players is not for me.
Calling for a great manager's head is not for me.
Speaking of how amazing the Liverpool and Arsenal players are and how great the game is is not for me (I am watching it, and it has been mostly shite.)

I have no problem with fans being annoyed at losing - none at all.
I have an issue with taking that venom way too far so that it appears, and it does, that a fairly large number on here would rather us lose so that their latent yearnings to be proven right come to the fore.
Have a look at the Oscar Bobb thread for some of the most ridiculous examples.

On we go, together, to pull our form to where it needs to be.

It’s all down to the reluctance to go for the very best available players. Nothing more complicated than that.

We’ve spent plenty but on lots of average or shit or potential.

Just identify the very best, get onto their agents and clubs. For some reason we’re trying to be clever in the transfer market but it’s obvious who the top players are or at least the ones with some energy, strength and a bit of desire to win.

But who are our true fullbacks that are built and trained to play at fullbacks

Funny how he looked brilliant in the club World Cup and I thought we’d got an absolute worldie of a left back. After today I am fucking clueless as to what he is.

It is blindingly obvious that we need to change our system. Occasionally we try to go forward quickly but not often enough, we are slow, predictable and boring. Unfortunately I doubt that Pep will change or evolve from his preferred system which will continue to enable teams to get the better of us, just every so often we will win by 3 or 4 but will also lose/draw far too many games to be competitive
The old “my way or the highway” will be the end of us..

Pep has earned the right to be given time but surely not if he refuses to adapt..

maybe between 2016-2023 we were The Beatles but KDB was Lennon and without him we are Wings

I'm never Pep out but his second-half plan was incredibly confusing to me.

We had the same match last year there, Hurtzler brought on four subs at 60 and we knew what was coming. No changes. Ait-Nouri didn't look right but he subs O'Reilly in the midfield and, while I like O'Reilly, he's not ready to play there in that situation. Put on Gundo if you are looking for someone to play advanced and score a goal.

The keeper situation has dragged on too long and it's led to a lack of confidence playing out of the back. Cannot create transition opportunities to take advantage of players that thrive in those situation.

Maybe this all gets sorted during break but feels big right now.

Any manager who wants to come in and attack, quick, direct and with purpose. Not build up slow as fuck allowing a full team to get in shape and nullify us with absolute ease. Who that man is I don’t know. I don’t call the shots. I don’t do the interviews. I just want him gone and last year as we beat wolves away to be top of the league I said all the same about our play. Being boring and winning is manageable. Being boring and outfought weekly is fucking miserable

The days of picking up players for cheap are long gone…….& diamonds from abroad

Those calling for Pep out, if you can't name a manager to replace him then shut the fuck up. You think there's a manager that can win the title with Nunes playing at right back?
Pep chose to play him there, like he chose to play without a left back for years, hes had plenty of time to get proper fullbacks but keeps playing people out of position, it's down to him not the players!

Two tests this season and two failures.

Severely lacking in creativity. I don't even think we have that winners mentality anymore.

We need some answers and solutions very soon or we are winning nothing this season.
Good point on mentality. We had a team full of winning mentality - for me that is pivotal - but I also think we have to wait and see how the side knits together with the new signings before passing judgement too soon.
