Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | Post Match Thread

No. A reply to someone who has no idea who to replace our current manager with, but demands he is sacked nonetheless.

A reply to someone who the last few days has posted very suspect posts about our club.

A reply to someone who has openly said Pep is a cheque book manager, something you’d expect to read on RAWK or rag cafe.

A reply to someone like that.
Are you special mate? Pep does need the best players to play his system yes. He’s been back substantially, yes. None of them statements are incorrect. What you don’t like is I want pep gone. That’s fair enough but I do. I asked is this the best we can be served up and you can’t answer that. I am still on my way back from Brighton whilst you’re in your armchair so get in the bin you fool

We are still everyone cup final spuds last and Brighton this week. The way the Brighton keeper celebrated the winner was like Hart after the Agueroooooooo goal.
I guess it shows how big City have become when rivals celebrated 3 points as if a cup final.

In the past we had players that could play in cup finals week in week out. We dont have that at the minute

Yeah but they do that against the likes of Liverpool Arsenal rags as well

I've not seen anyone say about captaincy yet?
In my opinion we haven't had a true leader since kompany, yes I know we won the league since he left , but we haven't needed a true leader to lift us as we had been playing great football and full of confidence. Now when something goes wrong no one can get the team going.
This should be where Phil foden has stepped up but he's no where near that now.
Phil should be out talisman now , our leader and face of our club but he's so far of the pace now he's nowhere near the starting 11 , never mind captaincy!

They just know we’re there for the taking, Arsenal and Liverpool are not.

We just aint...

We are and have been a walkover for anyone half decent. This "we are everyones cupfinal" is just rhetoric and an excuse to make us feel bettter. yes Bournmouth beat spurs but playing as we are Bounrmouth may well beat us as well

The plain and simple fact is that the players we have are mostly simply not good enough and some are in key positions.

Both right backs
Centre Half (Dias)
Wide players (take your pick)
Balance in midfield is all over the place with Reijnders going AWOL defensively in the last two games.
No creativity either centrally or outwide.

Another disappointing defeat. City were outfought and outthought for a 2nd successive game. This was more of the same of what was experienced last season. Another defeat, and another sign of City’s soft centre being exposed. Opponents have sussed City out and know that by getting stuck in and upping the tempo, they can get at us. The question to Pep Guardiola and his men is can we respond, can we learn, can we compete harder, can we take more chances, and can we improve all round? We must.

Agreed Brighton were garbage against Everton, yet somehow our lot managed to make them look good.
Every week I go on about our fitness and I will say it again, there has been something not right with our fitness and especially the strength and conditioning for a couple of years now.
The whole team starts well every week then drops off alarmingly unless we are a couple in front and can just play the game out, the fitness is shite.
It also shows with the amount of daft injuries we are getting, the slightest knock and they are out for weeks, look at the two teams on the telly now, both Liverpool and arsenal are sides full of units, out of our lot I would say probably only rhodri and perhaps gvardiol are the only two who you would say are difficult to knock off the ball, the rest just get shoved out of the way.
Haaland is a prime example of the fitness thing, when he signed for that first year he was huge and unstoppable, defenders just bounced of him, now he has half the strength and is getting knocked all over the place
You've almost saved me the bother of posting. I've banged on about it for 2 years, our fitness levels are abject, we use to destroy teams in the last 15, can't remember the last time we did it. Whoever is responsible for physical conditioning needs some help or they need to be replaced. After 70 mins the team is absolutely fcuked...

Things move on fast in football, and City should not that better than anybody else
The truth is, what more can Pep win and do at City because he's done the lot and done it again

The legacy he will leave will never be matched, and i even think all the old school City understand that
But leaving him as boss and making him work with this crap sqaud is hurting his legacy day by day
Agree, we all know we've been spoilt. The worry for me is that we get a bit like arsenal at the back end of wenger when he started to get some stick. I doubt that would happen here, but you never know

Pep won’t walk

But watching that today must sort of send signals that what the fuck am i doing here
I can sense it, feel it, see it, smell it, What else can Pep achieve at this club

I am hurting watching Pep become this and i am sorry there is no light at the end of this tunnel this time
Unless I wake up tomorrow and City have spent £500milion on the final day of the transfer window and signed 4 fullbacks and a new striker and midfield player, its going to be a long hard winter

Worrying quote that tbh. No recognition of the system issue and just on the attributes of players.
I did say we can play to his strengths more. I said it all season last year, we either need to play to his strengths or let him move on. Play slow, stagnant sideways football is not what he needs. He scored 50+ goals in his first season by getting forward quickly onto purposeful passes. We changed and whilst he still did very well, he dipped by 20 goals.

The system doesn’t suit the players or the league anymore tbh. It’s been figured out in my opinion. Maybe with a David silva or Kev we’d be able to make it work, but those players don’t exist.

Pep will decide when he leaves for sure. And he’s earned that right. But it feels too much like the rags at the tail end of Ferguson for my liking
