Easier said than done but I would like him to try to shoehorn more potential scorers into the team so thinking about Haaland, Gundo as advanced attacker with less ru ning , KDB, Foden a bit deeper.
We've then got 4 people who can realistically finish plus whichever other wildcards he picks, Bernardo possibly a 5th, Jeremy maybe
Probably wishful thinking but someone's got to score. Only 1 non scorer allowed in front 6 ideally.

Like, fair enough it's normal to think about these things.

But, nothing is defined or decided in November. We all know by now that we can win 10-15 games in a row, and other teams can just as easily bottle it.

Important and difficult game, but I don't think we need to get too existential just yet.

Caveat that by saying without Rodri I'm not too confident this season, but if any manager can find a way, it's Pep.
I just don't see us going on a run even when everyone is fit this season.

Rodri is so important to the way that we play that it makes it extremely difficult to work as a cohesive team.

With the players we have available, i'd like to see the team line up as below:-

Ederson
Walker Akanji Simpson-Pusey Ake
Kovacic Gvardiol
Foden
Bernardo Haaland Doku

KDB, Gundogan, Savinho and Nunes off the bench if needed. Let's make ourselves difficult to play against first and foremost, keep the ball so we don't countered. Front three to press Brighton from the start.

In Pep we trust.

We gonna show up for this, do not worry. Brighton is strong team, but we gonna have our chances.

We had actually our best 35 min of the season first half against Sporting. We been unplayable and should be out of sight. To do that against very on fire Sporting at their stadium when beloved coach doing farewell - really good sign.

I
Pivotal, season defining game for me.

Hear me out.

Worst case scenario, if we loose to Brighton and Spurs and Liverpool beat Villa and Southampton, they will be eight points ahead.

The way we are playing, I don't think the above is out of the question IMHO.

We then go to Anfield, without Rodri and players struggling for fitness/form and I can't see anything but a Liverpool win taking them eleven points clear.

Obviously, I hope things improve in the next couple of games but I just don't see it.

Apart from the Chelsea, Ipswich and West Ham games, we have really struggled in the league.

He needs to get some physicality in the midfield, Gundogan has been a bit of disaster, the injuries have left the defence exposed and we are really struggling to put the ball in the back of the net.

Hope i'm wrong.

I hope your wrong too and you probably will be. I do agree that it will be harder than usual to get anything at the dippers this year, although hopefully we will have a few back by then.

Simpson-Pusey?!!! Do you want us to lose this game?

Not that this is the game that will define how we go this season I think it would be preferable if we didn't lose tomorrow! For that reason and with a break coming up if Kev is anywhere near fitness he has to play - we need to change the narrative and for me having Kev back would do that. I would also move Phil to wide right as we need energy and effort to stop counter attacks. Wouldn't mind seeing a surprise Jack inclusion although Nunes has done ok he tends to tire mightily in games.

Big moment in our season - the media and others are creaming themselves over the thought we are gone so a great time to prove them all wrong.

I have high hopes that we will win this and the mindset of many would change - then have a break to get the squad fit and it will soon be the winter transfer window where we can add a midfielder to the ranks.
