Would I be getting carried away thinking that we could batter pretty much any team in Europe. We just beat Inter at a canter.

Etoo was made to look poor, Shneider (sp) was outclassed by Silva and Milner.

Can't wait for next week.

maybe a little lol.

if you think the champions league will be that easy you are mistaken.

Need to keep control of ourselves a little bit but i can see where you coming from, Some top players from Inter apart from some of the defence but we looked smooth. Let's wait until after sundays game before getting hopeful.

Lol, it was still only a pre-season friendly.. Let's not get too giddy.

Very good result against the side who finished as top scorers in Serie a last season , not to mention 2nd place ..... and City looked pretty accomplished throughout to me.

Make no mistake the italian press were watchin Inters performances like hawks pre-season , after the appointment of their new boss , and that strong Inter side certainly won't have wanted to lose today ..... they would have expected to win this tournament.

They didn't because stood in their way was a very good City side !

I think we have to remember that were a lot further ahead in preparation and that this was only a friendly... but having said that we did look awesome.

...and that they were missing some genuinely top class players - Lucio, Zanetti, Maicon, Cambiasso, Milito etc etc

But yeah, still a good performance.

We had a few players missing too... Small matter
of our top scorer for one

And we were missing both Tevez and Aguero...

You can't get carried away with it being only a pre season friendly , but we looked very good out there . Everyone played well , passed it well and we look good at both ends. Going forward , especially with Silva , it looks like we will score everytime we advance up the pitch . Good workout for the boys today , played nice stuff , Vinnie says they will up their game next week . I personally am looking forward to seeing that , because it doesn't get much better than what we saw today . Roll on Swansea

If you believed anyone who isn't a City fan we were without our whole team today, us being a one man team of Tevez and all.

I know we had players missing too. I was just saying that arguably 9/11 of our team was our first choice. There was half of Inter's first eleven, at best, out there...little perspective - that's all :)

I was still very impressed.

I agree. However, I think that we were so dominant in that game that had we both fielded fulls strength teams, we probably would've won.

I also think that asserting we could beat anyone in europe is kinda bold (to the original poster). Anyone but R. Madrid and Barca is who we would compete heavily with.

I'd probs agree. Probs not quite as clearly though - as good as our movement was, Inter's defence was still naff. You could tell that it was a reserve back four.

Is it mental that i'm hoping for one of these two in our CL group?
