So guess which club has beaten the British Transfer Record the most times since football was invented in 1992?

Yep its that corinthian spirited lot down the road in the suburbs just outside Manchester whose success was apparently built on youth and not on buying success by paying top dollar for top quality players.

More ammo.

They've broken the record 3 times since 1992 (plus Robson before that). Cole, Veron & Ferdinand. Plus they'd have had Shearer (another record) as well if he'd wanted to go there.

If you want to put it another way: of the last nine times the record transfer fee paid by an English club has been broken, they've been the buying club on four occasions, while no one else has broken it more than once (Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, Chelsea and then us being the other clubs in question).

Why stop at 1992, they also hold the overall record for one club, 5 times - Robson and Law as well as the other 3. Ruining football since 1878.
