BT Sport coverage

Sky's obsession with panning to owners/players/managers sat in stands is annoying.

Owen doesn't provide a single iota of insight. At one point in the Liverpool game, in the same sentence, he said something like.....'Crouch....give him the ammunition he will score.......as honest as the day is long'........(ignoring the basketball goal), within about 30 seconds he'd dived in the box and the commentator had revealed he hadn't scored since Christmas. Owen said nothing but I suspect the irony was beyond him. To be honest I thought Halsey was pointless as he seemed unwilling to criticise the referee, indeed praised him for turning a 'blind eye' to a penalty. However, I think the concept could work.

Overall, though I'm impressed!

Spot on with that mate. I enjoyed it but if Halsey doesn't criticise the referee when they get it wrong there's no point. The blind eye to a penalty is one of the things that frustrates lots of fans and shows how out of touch the FA/referees are.

Owen is a bore but he got the MOM correct and fair play for going for one on the losing team. Why he got criticised for that I'll never know.

Interesting thread, because I need someone to convince me to pay an additional £12 pm with a one off £15 connection fee to get this package along with the extortionate amount I already pay sky! Keep convincing please.
You get BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN for the same price as you got ESPN in the past. Don't see why you wouldn't want it.

But ESPN was free with the sky world package, it isn't now.

No it wasn't.

I have had that package for years and ESPN has always been an add on.

It was always free for Virgin punters who have the top package.

-- Wed Aug 21, 2013 8:39 pm --

I just changed from Virgin broadband to a slightly faster, but same price BT broadband and got the 3 extra sport channels free,

No brainier really in that situation.

I think its great that BT want to out do SKY. I think Ian darke is a big improvement on Martin Tyler and Jon Champion.

The only issue i have so far is Helen Skelton trying to be a journo, also HD shows she needs a shave.

Thought it was decent, definitely much better than espn and setanta. Ian Darke has the best commentator voice of all time, love hearing him commentate. All in all thought they were much better than I anticipated, hopefully they can somehow knock sky down a peg or two.
