(Buckle up) Recession for more than a year

You obviously have. The FTSE has averaged a growth of +7.38% (with dividends reinvested) over the last ten years. The S&P index has averaged +14.7% growth anually over the last 10 years.
Anyone who invested in shares (or pension fund) during this time must have made money. Now the correction is coming then it will grow again.

Bloody care workers complaining whilst sitting on shares, you can't trust anyone.

There are going to be so many people out there who have never been through an extended period of high inflation and increasing interest rates. There are going to be months if not years are hardhip for people who may have over stretched themselves and been living close to their limits.

Got to say that those who are genuinely poor I have a lot of sympathy for, particularly those with kids and on minimum wage or benefits.
As for those who have taken a gamble with money that they dont have and are leveraged to the hilt, buying multiple properties or cars they cant afford, well thats the risk you take unfortunately.
