Budget 2024

Higher taxes, loads more borrowing, higher inflation, higher interest rates and lower GDP growth.

Sounds like a perfect Labour Budget, and unfortunately it's only the start.
Got an alternative to stagnant growth, NHS crisis, crumbling infrastructure, poverty ridden children, amongst all those things that the Tories neglected.

And it was only going to get worse. When the shadow Chancellor started his rebuke of the Budget, the interviewer challenged him on where they’d budgeted for the Post Office and blood scandals, as well as the independent pay rise recommendations and, guess what, it turns out that they would’ve ’Got the funding from somewhere’. They’d not even fucking budgeted for it!

Now, let’s see what the current government can do. From what I’m seeing, they’ve delivered more to the UK in the last 4 months than the Tories delivered in the last 14 years.

I’m not sure anybody wants them to leave, or businesses deciding to shut up because they have to pay extra taxes. However, if they do, that will leave a hole in the market that the next generation will fill.

Its always the threat but they never do. Why? Because if they are successful in this market do they really want to move with all the associated costs and start again from scratch?
Its like bankers bonuses - they will all leave. Really are there that many empty desks in Paris, Frankfurt and Geneva to accommodate them?

You don't get an economy growing by running up huge additional debt, boosting inflation and keeping interest rates at unnecessarily high levels.

And growth is the thing that makes everything in the public sector happen, regardless of what people on here think.

I always think that if you make your money in a certain country during the good times, be prepared to support them in the bad times.

All reliefs will still be available.

Pension funds generally are only tax free currently (free of all taxes) if you die before 75. Post 75, beneficiaries pay marginal rate income tax on any withdrawals.

Anyway full detail is in this document.

This is an idea of how many people will be affected.
Regardless of reliefs that are available that money wasn’t taxed and now is at 40 percent. There are ways to mitigate any taxes post 75. I’ve paid my taxes why should my money be taxed again.

And, again, what did the Tory plans bring us as a nation?

I heard somebody yapping about long term growth today, not realising that this is only the first budget and there are many more to come to support this breakout into renewal.

It’s once again been proved that austerity doesn’t work and we’ll now see if government spending on critical infrastructure, with an eye on industrial strategy, proves better for the economy.

I’m afraid the last team failed, we should all be getting behind the new team to take us forward.

If todays budget had been delivered by a Tory Government, those currently complaining would be wanking themselves silly.
