Budgetamania 2018

Say what?

I'm saying the tax system is fair. Yes, those using a limited company may be better off, but there's more risk. I, for instance, spent about £30k setting up my business when you factor in initial training costs and wages that I could have earned carrying on in the employment I was in. If you're asking for exact same taxation amounts £ for £, then there's no point doing what I did, which would mean me paying less into the system.

Anyway, my point was, anyone else can try it if they want to.

So I guessed correctly it’s fair from your self interested point of view.

The latest research shows that when you factor in paid holidays, sick pay and employer pension contributions, then there's very little tax benefit between a ltd company arrangement and employment, so, yes, it's fair. Not sure what your problem is.

My apologies I wasn’t aware of the gamble/latest research tax fiddling law. They should really advertise it more to avoid confusion.

You seem to be arguing that I do the same work in order to pay less tax into the system.

Are you Diane Abbott?

No I’m not your reading comprehension is poor, I stated lots of self employed people fiddle their taxes. Your personal life story isn’t much of a concern to me. I don’t think the tax man is reading this thread.

You attacked one of my posts, suggesting I was against a fair tax system, nothing to do with tax fiddling. Not me lacking comprehension.

Tax fiddling and a fair tax system is somewhat linked I would say. You seem a tad touchy on this subject. If you think the tax system is completely fair and cannot and isn’t abused by the self employed than that’s your claimed opinion. If not your personal situation isn’t the slightest bit relevant. Unless you think I said all the self employed are at it, which I didn’t. Now that would be lack of comprehension.

Not touchy, but think you may have jumped in, and I was not getting your angle. The original discussion was about salaries and dividends surrounding a Ltd company structure, whereas you're going on about self employed which is technically a different beast. And yes, that area is more abused I guess.

It’s all good:-)
