I agree, we dont need him. Shay Given is as good, if not better than Buffon. Keep your money for to spend on someone else that we will need in the future.

...Personally i don't see the need in signing another 30+ keeper when we already have in my opinion one of the best keepers in europe in Shay...plus i would like to see Joe Hart back in net for City in the next maybe 2-3 seasons..

Gianluigi Buffon wants to get away from the ongoing troubles at Juventus, with Bayern Munich and Manchester City both ready to provide some relief.

Tuttosport claims Buffon has had enough of enduring dissapointment following the Old Lady's third straight defeat, a 2-1 home loss to Roma on Saturday.

The goalkeeper is quoted as having said: "Always on the counter attack...that's enough, I cannot take it anymore," as he walked through the Stadio Olimpico tunnel after the game.

Juve are now four points off the Champions League pace, and failure to qualify for that competition could prove a further strain on the 32-year-old.

Whilst Buffon has always showed the club a strong sense of loyalty post Calciopoli, the recent slide has prompted him to change his view.

Both Bayern Munich and Manchester City are said to be tracking the goalkeeper, despite his agent Silvano Martina claiming last week that there are no plans for a move.


Well, this is a really tough decision, Buffon or Given? Buffon for me but, i wish he wanted to leave when ADUG took over :(

Too old, too injury prone (his back is duff) and would be a massive f*ck you to Given who has been outstanding for us.

After Mancini clearly said Given is one of the top 5 keepers in the world theres no way he would look to replace him.

I wouldn't mind him, Shay is a great stopper but if only he came off his bloody line! I cringe everytime the other team gets a corner.
