Dortmund don't sign their players to long enough contracts and don't renegotiate early enough. This gives the players the power and leaves Dortmund in a tricky situation, and I've never known a club be in this situation as often as Dortmund. I think they've done very well to lure the highly rated Ousmane Dembele though so hopefully they've learned their lesson so that if he does well, they don't allow him to eventually leave on the cheap. Every major club in Europe was after him and if he does well at Dortmund it will be tricky to keep hold of him.
I read yesterday that the Bundesliga has signed a new TV Deal which has nearly doubled the current one. I think the old one was worth €2.5 billion and the new one something like €4.7 billion. Whilst not at the same level as the Premier league, that is a significant increase and confirms its status as one of the big 3 European leagues, and it will mean teams like Augsburg and Mainz can probably offer better terms than the likes of Benfica, Ajax, or Marseille. So it should mean better quality players being attracted to Germany, and make it even more competitive.
Who knows - maybe it can give someone the chance to 'do a Leicester'.
