Bundesliga Thread - 2023/24

We’ve got Akanji and Stones to play the defensive side of right back, Frimpong would be the rampaging full back that Walker is trying to be this season, but with more threat.

I’ve not seen enough of his defensive play to make a full opinion on how he could be used in the biggest of games for us.

Would £130m get us Wirtz and Frimpong?
Good question. Yes before Frimpong’s new contract but now, I’m unsure.

As an attacking threat, no brainier. Even before this season, been watching a bit of Leverkusen. Thing is, Kyle is pace and power and a lot more. Frimpong has pace to burn and can get back to catch anyone that’s get behind him but unlike Kyle, he won’t be able to use his body and pace to force the player to do what he wants. However, he’s young still and can only improve.

Germany's first ever "Invincibles"?. Definitely have to go to Germany and watch a game, proper atmosphere instead of singing stupid songs to wind the opposition supporters up and that "you just don't understand" bollocks.

In Germany it's a proper carnival atmosphere, and the whole culture of it is the closest we will get to what football was like over here before 1992.
I was at university in Potsdam from October 2001 to February 2002, and while there, I went to a few Hertha games.

On one occasion, I distinctly remember the opposition supporters chanting, "You’re not singing any more!" after they'd equalised.

Much prefer that to repetitive "who are ya?", "Shall we sing a song for you?", "Sacked in the Morning" and other rubbish.

The only German chant that annoys me is "Aufwiedersehn!", which sounds daft in comparison to "Is there a fire drill?!".

They seem to show fun during tough times. Magdeburg had not scored in ages once, so their supporters all held up arrows pointing towards the goal.
That’s fucking hilarious.

He’ll get stronger as he gets older too.

I reckon transfer fees might start to come down a touch soon, so I’d test their resolve on that double swoop.

Xabi Alonso is outrageously good. Would change things if he goes to Liverpool.
As much as I don't want them to get him, I think it's a challenge Pep would relish and could motivate him to stay longer.
