Burnley (3rd rd FA Cup) Post Match thread

Just seen the highlights, and a few points from me:

1. On the Matchday thread Bravo got dog's abuse for 'flapping' at a corner. Fucking utter bullshit. No keeper would have got anywhere near it, and he was being held by one of their players. Some fans refuse to give certain players anything but abuse.
2. He didn't stand a chance with the goal, absolutely amazing strike by the Burnley lad - again, he took some blame for it on the Matchday thread.
3. Huge well done to Sane for taking the difficult option and staying on his feet to score, as he could quite easily have gone down under the shit challenge by the defender.
4. Great pass by Gundogan.

Can't wait to hear Dyche's whinging, whereas he should probably be aiming any criticism at his own players for switching off for our opener.
Agreed, Bravo was seriously blocked by either Vokes or Barnes for any corners (practically had their hands down his pants ffs) and their goal would have beat all goalkeepers...... ALL OF THEM.

Well thats bollocks. Defour did an interview last month where he discussed how Dyche has developed their style of play this season.

I think its absolutely refreshing to see a club with their budget go toe to toe with the elite sides in the league and instead of bending over and getting bummed.

He did the same last season they just shipped goals.

This is a honey moon season for Burnley. Nothing refreshing about it.

Hell take the credit now, the fuckers will probably be relegated next season.

Toe to fucking toe?!!?

This league has always had one absolute fundamental rule for teams to survive.

That is scoring goals. Have a look at it's history. If you fail to do that you will either be relagated or something very close to it.

Burnley are an exception to the rule this season. I can't get my head around how a team who have scored 19 goals are in fucking 7th.

Believe me, they will not repeat this next season. All these 1 nils will become draws or defeats.

It's a freak occurrence just like Leicester and their PL win.

lol we stayed up for three years with Pearce as a manager

We missed the first 18 minutes because I had to work, but it was worth making the effort to come.

As soon as Stones miskicked that ball, you could see what was coming. Fair play to the lad, though; he didn’t allow the mistake affect him and he was his usual calm and composed self thereafter.

A brilliant bit of quick thinking for the first and some fantastic close control and skill for the second. The other two were typical City counter-attacking brilliance, and it was great to see Sané, whose second half was as brilliant as his first half was poor, involved in both goals. I’m very pleased for him that he’s back on the scoresheet and it won’t have done Bernie's confidence any harm to have bagged the fourth.

I was a bit mystified as to why Pep felt the need to bring on Kyle and KdB at 3-1, when we were in total control, especially when both - certainly Kevin -probably needed a rest more than any other players in the squad. I thought Zinchenko did very well. Yes, he made a few mistakes, but that’s to be expected from a young lad. Maybe he and/or Ilkay got a knock.

All-in-all, a great afternoon and a very enjoyable way to make the fourth round.
