Burnley manager Sean Dyche speaking to Match of the Day: "I'm really proud of the players, there could've been question marks after we were factually safe but we took the game on against a fantastic side.

"I told the players before, we can't take them on at their game so we had to make it as awkward and as uncomfortable as possible - almost like a cup tie mentality and we did that very well.

"It's fantastic for me to see Pep screaming get the ball in corner - that was pleasing for me. You have to find a way to win. We're not blessed with riches, its very difficult, but you can't get our points tally in the second half of the season without playing well so there's a pride in finding different ways to win. When you hear Pep screaming 'get it in the corner', that's quite amusing.

"Its a constant plan here. Relatively speaking it's been a fantastic season. I knew it'd be a tough start to the season - not as tough as it ended up being - but they delivered a magnificent second half of the season."

I haven’t got a problem with burnley trying to get something from the game, but those tactics were just mind numbingly boring. They are safe so no need to dry out the pitch and huddle on the edge of their own area shit scared of a football match breaking out.
They could easily have played to their strengths and tried to use their physicality and bombarded us with high balls into the box. They might even have got something, and it would have given their fans something more than a throw in to cheer.

That’ll do City.
Awful pitch and awful tactics from Burnley who got what they deserved.
Haven’t read the thread so this may have been posted but a special mention for Shay Given in the studio in his lucky sky blue suit.
When it was pointed out that Sergio’s goal was 29 mm over the line, he said “yep, and 29 years since Liverpool won the league”
Ooh that's gotta hurt

"I always said it was Leicester who were the big test really, they were never going to drop points today"

- Every Liverpool fan.
Pretty sure they'll draw at Newcastle after playing Barca. Could be all over next weekend :)

I’m not Gundo’s biggest fan as he tends to go hiding but he has been very very good recently and done a great job in Dinho’s and KDB’s absence. He plays better when they’re not on the pitch as he seems to get more freedom. Keep it up!
