Burnley (A) Post Match Thread

The quality of football from Burnley was truly shocking. Every single pass from the goalkeeper and other players was a hoof up the field just giving us the ball back. I really don't rate Dyche and also don't accept the Burnley poverty narrative.
They have been in the PL for years and had a lot of TV revenues in that time. They play terrible football compared to lots of clubs with similar finances in the UK and abroad. Dyche gets the usual easy ride from the press. I am not saying they should be winning trophies but it is about time they showed more ambition and tried to entertain their own fans a bit more. Burnley were an attractive team to watch in the 60s and 70s.
The TV companies don't pump millions into the Premier league to witness the sort of dross that Burnley serve up. Like you say they've been in the Premier league a good few years now taking the money and spending Jack shit. Considering its estimated that being in the Premier league is worth £100 million a season more than being in the Championship, where the fck has all the money gone?

Harsh Zinchenko had what 10 minutes and did nothing wrong.

He doesn’t need a lot of time to make mistakes. Come on let’s be honest, he’s not good enough for this team considering the available left backs out there.

I don’t disagree that he’s the long term solution to our LB issue, but he wasn’t alone in the odd misplaced pass. I noticed Dias and Stones demonstrated that skill to a degree too last night.
As back up LB I wouldn’t be unhappy with that.

Excellent and Complete performance. The confidence of the defense is rubbing on the players upfront. The energy is coming back and the players are able to win games in 2nd gear :))

I don't know how Jesus didn't get a penalty when the replay clearly showed he was fouled? Was VAR Sleeping?

The Offside goal is seriously debatable but hey, it didn't matter in the end

Sterling played really well but he needs to finish his one on ones!! Could have been 4 but an away win is also going to make us happy :)

Anfield here we come

It will only improve when they sack Riley
Unfortunately corruption within English football is far more deep rooted than Mike Riley - the few decent and honest Refs in the game are the ones that get forced out. Ask yourself why do all Premier league refs have to sign a 'compromise agreement' when they retire - it stinks to high heaven.

OK. Judging by your moniker I'll bow to your apparent inside knowledge.
I still stand by the remainder of my comments in that under the current system these guys are apparently untouchable. How on earth can a multi-billion pound business be so heavily influenced by such small band of incompetent assholes ?
You are not wrong that they are untouchable. PL is the only league where anofficial cannot be relegated from which surely leads to complacency.

There wage bill in 2018 was 82m expect it to be more now that’s where most clubs money goes to

Pre-Prem, I worked with a guy who could run the line in the top two divisions and ref lower league games - ran the line in those legendary Everton/Sheff Weds FA Cup games - late 80s. He ran the line in a Manure/AC Milan friendly - Gullit and co. Expenses only in those days and you weren't allowed to ref games in your local area. Was forever telling us that the assessor in the stand reviewed the ref's performance with the ref in attendance using video - mistakes were highlighted loud and clear. I don't think that direct analysis of performance happens these days.
Not PC otherwise known as The Skull was it ?
