Burnley (A) | Post Match Thread

They sit together in the press box, they drink and gossip together week after week and agree ci"what the line is" on many issues. Then they all write that
Yes but it happens during a match too when an incident occurs and they all adopt a common party line whilst 50000 see something different. It's strange even allowing for us fans being biased. I think that many other journos followed the attitude of Ne-Vile and Tyler over Manes red card for Eddie's neat decapitation.
There is certainly something fishy.
I've only been near the press box once and that was for a Youth Cup match. Even for that l was surprised how much tech stuff they have to use.

That away end needs demolishing, the crush getting up the stairs pre match and to seemingly the only exit around half time yesterday was dangerous and unpleasant.
Saw a couple of people go over and briefly thought something more serious might happen.
As for the game, routine. Dominated, clean sheet, missed loads of easy chances.
Burnley look like a relegation team. Not much fire or belief in that group anymore.
Even their fans seem to have given up, quietest I’ve ever heard them at Turf Moor, even though we have given them some right thrashings down there in the past.

For many years, I was an honorary member of a group of journos who often told me how stories were produced. Football gossip was the best. "How do you get the gossip", I innocently asked.
They replied: "Er...we make it up."
One of that group became editor of a prominent football mag, but I'll not embarrass him.

Nightmare of a ground to get in and out of, had a good day though.

having watch back the game i can not believe the burnley players and setup respect us far to much for the first half.
there was no dirty tackles or the fans going mental it was far to easy and felt like a friendly ? then in the 2nd half the referee got in the act and started giving city fouls and free kicks. then it took off and burnley started to kick us and the fans got mad and there manager got in the officials faces and it felt like burnley away.

but the game was over by half time and city come off the gas 2nd half with one eye on the champions league in midweek. funny thing is that i have notice this a lot this season and city turn off the gas and play game management.
even the players selection was with a eye on midweek Bernardo Silva Mahrez Stones on the bench.

i did thought after the international break we could be a little sloppy but nope full on early goal and got the job done before halftime and like i said it felt like a friendly game

The stadium needs a total revamp, the toilets were just as bad with just one entrance/exit very dangerous.
