It's gonna be a battle,everyone stand firm
Don't give away stupid fouls near the box
Keep the ball away from them and on the ground
Mark them properly on corners
Take our chances
Someone make a tackle in midfield, letting them through is killing us
Use both wings to pull them about
Gabby make this the game where you finally learn the offside rule
No chance phil starts when we have less experience and possession without gundy and if you take out dave
Football is a simple game

Up the blues

Still not losing faith on the title but at the same time not as big a disappointment than previous seasons if we lose out on the league. More games to come but it’s obvious other teams are aware that we are at our most vulnerable state after several years of running circles around teams. I would like to see Foden and Angelino play more to prime them for next season. And also Zinchenko. I rate him more than Mendy his smaller stature can be deceiving he is just as good with crosses as Mendy and is also a more complete footballer around the box. Just dont let him mark a pacey winger then Zinchenko would be fine at LB.

If we can get the job done in the league - a mighty ask with an 11 point gap and the leading team getting the rub of the green on VAR, no main injuries, and dives for fouls and the powers that be wills them it - it will be another memorable season for us should we win it. But our depleted squad and less than stellar passing game proves otherwise and if anything it justifies focusing more on the monkey on our back the chumps league. Sane is a big loss and took out several chapters off of our penetrative tactical game. We should be at least 6 points better of than now with Sane.

Harder to break down teams now because we are more predictable and do like-for-like subs rather than flipping the game onto a new tangent altogether. Entertaining and impeccable football is a start.

We certainly missed chances, but Newcastle were able to dribble through our midfield and at our defence pretty easily. It was a scampering defence which Fernandinho basically carried. My point with Foden is largely centred on the fact I think the league has gone and want to get him ready to replace Silva. We should be preparing and looking to prioritise the CL. We can still win the league but we don't look capable of winning every game. Laporte has been a huge loss.

is that not more down to the way we play though ?As we've always said we are an attack minded team that often leaves our defence exposed and the price we pay as a result. We could always revert to playing like Leicester soaking it up and trying to hit teams in the break God forbid !! It's our lack of cutting edge that us costing us more than anythjng else.

Not to mention that we were winning more games and seemed more dynamic with Zinch in the team rather than Mendy. Just seems like a better technical footballer at the moment

Totally agree with this

Must win game. If we fall behind, Pep must be more willing with subs and other tactics to change the game.

Tough bunch of bastards this lot so the boys in blue will need to match their desire and aggression as well as put away the chances that come their way in order to break their spirit. As an aside, one now has to counter this with the referee’s agenda. Will City be allowed to compete fairly or will they have their wings clipped? Time will tell...

Tempted to put the mortgage on Burnley having 2 attempts on goal both of which will hit the back of our net. We'll have 583 attempts on goal and score 1. Hate to say it, but I can only see more dropped points on Tuesday.
Yep. 2-1 up, saw the boys in blue celebrating, and I said to myself: but can you defend it. The answer was no. If my confidence isn’t there; they must be feeling it too.
