I've watched the preview,went straight for pep and his cl record,think i will give the build up a miss

I have been a supporter for about 65 years and when I go to games I watch and support MY team. I don't dissect, analyse to death games I just support them. Yes, every player makes mistakes; yes, they may even disappoint BUT I come back for more each week. Some people on here must be real saddoes down the pub. Always complaining about the team. As soon as someone misplaces a pass he's sh1t and it doesn't matter what he does next as some people's bias on here knows no bounds.

Whether you have been supporting 65 years or one year (and Ive been supporting considerably longer than that but not as long as you) . all opinions are valid

The reason for my post was I was replying to someone else who said list all the positives and negatives (as i see it) regarding Gundogan - so i did -some will agree, some will disagree and Im comfortable with both

Team needs a lot of strengthening in a number of ways over the coming windows , we need to improve our rate of soft tissue injuries the right way , we need targets to join us that will replace stalwarts like Silva , Kun , Ferny and we need to get more out of what we have without replacements both in consistency of effort , press , combination play with speed and finishing on a more consistent basis.

I don't think we are too far short of another season like two seasons ago if we get the right replacements at the right age for longer term top line success seriously challenging for both the big titles on a consistent basis.

Our history is slowly evolving and its positive overall , you will always have blips in a competitive league and each year this year Liverpool and Leicester for example performing beyond expectation of result.

Thing is Ferna wont stay at centre half....Laporte will e back playing probably by February....the league could be gone by then (if its not now) but if by some miracle we are still in touching distance of the scousers and Leicester by then, then you never know......

I understand the clubs reluctance to go for signings in January - over flated prices and limited options with few top players moving at this time (I think Laporte did if i remember correctly)

Just remembered the first time I went to Burnley was the game after we won the league cup in 76 Dennis tueart miss 3 pens was nil nil first time on a special it was nuts debbie at the front walking up the road looking for a ruck, them where the days ha ha ha

I was at that match, I was wearing a City flat cap bought for Wembley, Blue, white and maroon, was queuing to get in and a Burnley dickhead nicked my hat and ran off, gutted.

A double pivot? I like it. One of the original reasons Zinchenko played was his ability to transition into midfield and play as a double pivot. With him gone, maybe it’s time to play a more orthodox system like above. It would certainly bring some solidity...

I like that line up as I was thinking how much I wish we could play NDJ and the great Gaz Baz tonight that would f**k the Dingles plans. :-)

I just wanna get 3 points. The style of play is inherent to the need to keep up with the teams above us. And results will improve self confidence.
And to be fair we will never ever get the recognition we should get for the silverware we won nor the style of play in which we won it, so right now I don’t give a flying feck how we win it. Just win !!
