In the ideal world yes, but we have injuries to Dias and Stones which leaves us with two left footed CH's, plus Walker is suspended for the 1st leg against AM.

Assuming neither CH's are fit enough, my early team for Burnley

Ederson

Cancelo
Walker
Laporte
Ake

Bernardo
Rodri
Gundogan

Mahrez
KDB
Foden

If that’s the line-up then I’d prefer Walker & Cancelo to play RB and LB respectively and Ake to partner Laporte in the CB pairing.
My reasoning is that Walker & Cancelo are best where they’re most experienced playing (ok so Cancelo only recently experienced at LB but he knows the role well) and Ake has played at CB before.

I know what you're saying but i'm not sure how comfortable Laporte would be on the right side, he gets enough stick now when he plays on his natural side!
My thinking was that Cancelo is naturally right footed and Walker has played centrally and is comfortable on the ball, so it makes the back four more balanced.

I can understand that perspective but feel that Cancelo & Walker in the LB & RB positions contribute so much to what we achieve going forward that it more than compensates for any difficulty Laporte might have at RCB.
Walker & Cancelo play as wingbacks a lot of the time and Laporte & Ake will never be wingbacks as they don’t have the right engines for that.
Furthermore, 3 players playing out of position to allow 1 to play in position would seem a tad exotic - though I’m not saying it won’t happen as I’m just a guesser like everyone else on here.

Remember getting the tram to the home game earlier this season, due to having to work, tram was full of the six fingered inbreds. One of them was gobbing off about how City struggle after the International breaks (news to me and all the other Blues on the tram) and that he would settle for a 2 nil defeat there and then, but he fancied a draw. He got the score right - he got me thinking though and here we are right after an International break. Still think we will win though.

Looks like a Radio5live job for me, unless there are any 'watery alternatives' that FOCs like me don't know about?

Any win will do but our goal difference needs addressing , if we can smash five past Porto then the hateful eight members are cannon fodder , we know the twelve toed f*ckers will not change their tactics even if we go three of four goals ahead they can only hope for is damage limitation. So lets bang in a few goals and close in on the Dippers. We can then sit back and enjoy Dyche's post match bi-annual moan, about money the strength of our bench blah , blah , blah.
