Burnley (FA Cup) Post Match Thread

We showed tremendous respect to Burnley...

Only played full on for half the match and, as good hosts, invited them to have a couple of go's themselves to score.

Indeed, they were a tad impolite turning down our generous gifts.

Brilliant result against a decent enough PL team.

Form is quite good at the moment :) Great that we brush games aside without too much effort. Jesus is confident and looking very sharp. Thought Mahrez showed more desire as well, although not quite there yet.

Sorry if asked before, but why was Mendy not in the squad?

We must have a few injuries, Guardiola usually has a centre back and full back option on the bench but we only had Laporte today, would have expected one of Mendy, Delph, Zinchenko and Kompany on there with him.

Probably, seems strange that he would rest Mendy after the short cameo against Burton. Danilo is playing very well atm though so not too worried.

PEP I'm really pleased for the commitment, and especially with all the games in our legs and minds. We have to improve a few things but we made good movements. I'm satisfied to be in next round and in the draw on Monday.

PEP Its not easy when players have long injuries. Thats why we tried to handle @DeBruyneKev's minutes and of course today, we need him because he's so clever and so aggressive in his game. He helps a lot.

PEP Eight games winning in a row and this month is good. Everybody has played and we want to arrive in the last stages of the FA Cup, Champions League and fight to the end. It’s the only way I understand.

Watching that performance today just makes those defeats to Palace and Leicester at Christmas all the more annoying. We were without half of our strongest XI at kick off (Benji, Dave, Leroy, Raheem, Kun and Eric), yet we walked through that game this afternoon at no more than, what, 70% of our potential. Just how the fuck did we lose those two games, moreso considering we scored first in both of them?

Didnt look like we broke a sweat and still won at a canter, Burnley are woeful and the fans are even worse. Did anyone see that guy run on the pitch at the end? Looked like he was trying to swing at someone.
