Last game before we sit on our arses and watch through our fingers as fat-fingered international managers manhandle our players for two weeks.
Playing against top of the Championship is just like playing a midtable PL club. Maybe not in quality, but the winning mentality of a team top of a table bridges that gap. Not to mention that Kompany is definitely going to be keen on making a mark on his old club.
Ortega
Walker/Stones/Laporte/Gomez
KDB/Phillips/Bernardo
Mahrez/Alvarez/Foden
I really don't rate Gomez or Phillips, but Laporte/Stones/Walker should be a stiff enough trio to pick up whatever slack those two drop. Ake and Rodri need a proper rest. If either or both of those two sustain an injury now, we are absolutely fucked.
We just don't have enough midfield personnel to rotate properly. Bernardo and KDB at least have had some rest in the past few weeks, so we'll have to risk it with those two. We can, however, play a very strong front three.
I'd really like to see Perrone get a proper run-out, though that would only happen if we were comfortable.
It's going to be a tough game, but it's just something we have to gut out.
