With Laporte not reaching his top level since the restart last season there is a real chance for Stones to cement his place as first choice alongside Dias with performances like today. Aeriel play and being outmuscled used to be one of his biggest weaknesses but he was right up for it today.

I was/am a big fan of Stones but had almost given up on him after the last 18 months of non-stop injuries and inconsistent performances, but if he can get 7/8 starts up to the end of the year we can hopefully get back the player of 3 years ago!

Lots of good stuff on view against pretty poor opposition to be fair. Completed many of the chances we made. High energy and moving the ball well for long periods. KDB a joy to see moving like that. Diaz bosses the back. Stones looked composed .Last 15 minutes were a bit of a let down as a lot of bad habits suddenly re-appeared.
