Burnley (h) pre-match thread

We were careless for their goal, but I could't fault our commitment. We looked like a team, and played a good game, but Liverpool knew we were suspect defensively and all thye had to do was hit us on the counter. All it took was one counter and we were broken. Toure is not good enough. Neither are the full backs. Stones had a good game, but where was he for their goal? Too many weak links in our team now. We have some very exciting young players and KDB, but the experienced players are too old. Guardiola has a re-building job to do
Totally agree about a rebuilding job, and don't be surprised to see some firm favourites being shipped out

Surely we can't be worse and as toothless as yesterday, we tend to batter poor teams at home over the last few years.

The league I fear has gone the team, squad is too unbalanced and are incapable of performing at a good enough level consistently.

Play 2 up front and get 5/6 goals to put a bit of pride back into the side.

So given what you have said, and I agree, who do you blame for this bearing in mind the obscene amounts of money earned and spent

Can't believe posters on the post match dipper thread are predicting Burnley are going to "turn us over" , our last home game we deservedly beat the Goons we stuffed Hull 3-0 (were Everton scraped a point) and we had a narrow defeat at Klanfield . What is it with this forum ? manic depressives predicting doom and gloom and actually secretly hoping they are proved right , some right f*cking weird "fans" on here . We have a new manager bringing totally different tactics to the club and we have young players like Sterling , Stones , Sane , Jesus recently arriving who will take a little time to find their feet , perhaps we should ignore the pundits and what other football clubs are trying to achieve , we will be sweeping the board with Pep in a couple of seasons he is a proven winner and believes in what he does some belief form our own "fans" wouldnt go amiss.
Burnley won't "turn us over" it will not be a walk in the park , but i expect three points and no less.

It's a pre-match thread not a what the fuck is going on thread but we've fucked up since 2012 with various things, for the money we've spent we go backwards for the most part season after season.

The first thing to get right is player recruitment......

Aguero blunt. Both full backs off the pace and a central midfielder who can't compete under pressure. You can't win the big matches carrying 3-5 weak players. That's what we doing at the moment

This summer should be interesting

Right, new year, new start, and we couldn't really ask for a better fixture than this to get the Scouse embarrassment out of our system.

Let's start the year with a damn good beating of Burnley and go on our own unbeaten run to claw back the 10 points. We've done it before, we can do it again. Chelsea will surely get some difficult fixtures soon, they can't keep playing Stoke and Palace; they'll drop points and we'll be there to catch them.

Got Gabriel Jesus now as well, he could be the extra attacking flair we need.

COME ON CITY, WE CAN STILL WIN THIS LEAGUE!!

It's possible mate but for it to happen there will have a huge & sustainable improvement & the renters & dippers will to go back wards as fast as we have.

Here's hoping 'eh.

I think we will thump Burnley 4, 5 or hopefully 6-0.
Burnley fan has texting me saying "we are going to kick you when you are down" ha ha so come on City !

Was shocked at how few players left last summer- only Demichelis, Nasri, Bony, Hart, Denayer and Mangala really- but think there's clearly going to be a lot more this summer, meaning a lot more signings by default.

Chelsea seem unlikely to not win this now. Arsenal and Liverpool will likely fuck up again so I doubt we'll struggle to reach the top 4. But we need to win this and hope one of Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs don't win.
