I havent seen anything where he has said he deserves to be in the 1st 11. I believe he has 2 years left on his contract so would only be sitting on his backside this season. He is then in the last year of his contract & his agent will be negotiating with other clubs to see where he stands with signing on & wages because their would be no transfer fee involved.Yes and know, footballers live in a bubble, he thinks he deserved to be in our first 11, not many other people do, even those like me who had been defending can only defend him and his form is temporary, class is permanent excuse is wearing a little thin, even thinner if he is wanting north of 300k and 'assurances' on game time.
If he sat on his backside and ran his contract down he would be the loser, he still has over 2 and a half seasons left on it, he isn't running that down if he is stuck on the bench or not playing at all, there is no upper hand greater than you won't be considered for selection, not that I like that scenario either tbh.
Sorry, I mistakenly thought it was 20/21 lol the last 12 months didn't happen.I havent seen anything where he has said he deserves to be in the 1st 11. Show me where Sterling has stated any of the above, and not some interviewer who more than likely has an agendaSorry, I mistakenly thought it was 20/21 lol the last 12 months didn't happen.
So what do you think 'assurances' means btw?

Synonyms & Antonym
If you seek assurance from somebody you want their assurance to be something you desire, no?
Sterling is seeking assurance on his 1st team plans.
Sterling: Pep am I in your 1st team plans
Pep: Not at the moment, you need to find your best form again.
Sterling: I think I am open to a move abroad.
If the answer was positive he wouldn't be chatting about leaving to some random interviewer.
Well they haven't been any of the above in recent meetings. I don't see any blatant arrogance. Just some being a bit more positive about our chances.I cannot understand the blatant arrogance of some folk on here. Burnley are disciplined, well managed and hungry for a point. These so-called weaker teams often see playing MCFC as their cup final. We need to be focused and determined ourselves to pick up the three points.
