Burnt lawn after weed n feed

As the title says, ive buggered up my beautiful lawn by applying weed n feed and generally making a mess

Its only a small lawn, 20m2 , and this year i went to town on it getting it lush n thick

Ariated in spring, applying feed every 6 weeks, watered when no rain, trimming it twice a week. It looked amazing.

Just had 2 weeks away and no care and very weedy (from next door) so got some weed n feed.
Anyway, i ballsed up the application and now 50% is black! Grass looks ruined in those patches , black and dey

Is it dead as a dodo and those areas need digging out, soiling and re seeding ? Or is there another less painful way ?
Timing and water is important. I would not worry too much if your lawn looks like it has been hit by napalm. Just water it. I promise you will not have a weed grow for at least 5 years. The black is moss.

Grass is almost impossible to kill, it’s very hardy. Even if dry and brown for long periods of time in drought, it comes back with just a bit of rain.

Grass even survives fire. It’s thought that part of grass’ evolution is its adaptation to withstand and spread fire so it can become the dominant plant in forested areas. Pull grass up after it’s been on fire and you’d have burnt shoots but past that in the deeper clump, the grass would be unaffected.

A bit of a water every two days will see the grass return to a lush green lawn in no time.
