my only advice mark is to get used to it. babies clearly think of the best and most innovative ways to allow you as little sleep as possible. i always found that laying them on my chest with their heads on your shoulder while you rub their backs worked best. don't worry pal, you'll get a good night's sleep again in about 6 years.

haha, cheers Kev. everytime i try that she falls asleep .

how you doing buddy ?

good mate. just watched my eldest lad in a football tournament for school this morning. P4 W1 D2 L1 - went out in the 1st round but lost against the best team in the area. this kid for them was like zinedine bastard zidane. he scored about 20 goals in the 4 matches i saw including one from his own half and one against our lot direct from a corner. little shite needed de jong on him.

Or Parker

cheers for advice everyone

you irish lot know all the tricks. a strange bunch to say the least. my grandad was a tipperary man and tought my mam to rub between the eyebrows to get me to sleep. i used to go out like a light and did it with my whipper snapper when they were babies.

You are told all the tricks of the trade to get the kids winded and off to sleep. As for baby teething the old bit of whiskey on the babies gums was all the rage when I was a kid none of the fancy stuff like today and it knocked us out most times. Maybe it is down to this that I dont mind having a odd whiskey shot.

I always found with ours that sitting them on my knee, hand under there chin but keep there back dead straight worked for me! Or laid across my knees face down rubbing there back also did the trick!

A version of the above worked for me a treat within 30 seconds.

Sit baby on knee, left hand under chin, right hand pushing gently on small of back with a bit of a rub and pat, pull up on the chin/neck gently with left hand to really make little un sit up straight and you should be good.

Can any father's out there help me with this one

2am-4am this morning, baby refusing to have her bottle as she clearly needs to let out a burp, eventually she did but only after i gave up patting her on the back and put her back to her cot ... then she wanted feeding again !

It helps if you stop the wind from getting in here in the first place - Dr Browns bottles are the way forward for you as they have a nifty little down pipe which takes the air out of the milk somehow

This.
Combination of patting and rubbing. Quite hard aswell. Kind of kneading with the base of the palm from the small of their back upwards. As if you were trying to get a bubble out of wallpaper!
Give them a pipette of infacol before you feed them.

^ this !

how old's your baby?

could it be that she's still upset a little about your relegation?
