Businesses most vulnerable in the pandemic.

My sister runs a busy take away greasy spoon. She has had to close for x day's as a copper came in saying how half his work colleagues have been exposed, hence asked to self quarantine. Just the act of him entering the premises and the risk that he had it forced her hand, this was today, just found out about it now. The 3 staff she employs are not to happy, neither is my sister but it was a joint decision between them all. She will soften the blow by paying them something for their missed work days but she can't pay them full pay for weeks of closure as she still has rent to pay on the property and obviously no cash is coming in.
Those coppers are cunts. Just think how they could have avoided it if they werent called out to 'Im being harassed on facebook' calls and were left to catch coronavirus off people with real life issues

If any of you work in sales and the virus is hitting business just put a post on Facebook urging people to stop being selfish and panic buying your product.

Tourist industry is going to be decimated.Thomas Cook has already disappeared. Not sure many other tourist operators will survive the Year without help from the Government

In terms of what we will see closing it’s going to be the restaurant business that gets hit hardest, travel company’s etc will get help but all the independent restaurants are going to be empty for months on end and the majority of them don’t have any safety nets to see them through. On the flip side the delivery app services will get a boost.

I'd expect firms that make stuff could be hard hit if they get a large outbreak among staff - you can't install a lathe or assemble a car at home - small sops the same.....if your local SPAR for example has 3 out of 6 staff off with Covid-19 would you shop in there? Food outlets and say keycutters/cobblers could be vulnerable but tbh they live hand to mouth anyway with the slightest shock being fatal - couriers - if a large firm employs a load on zero hours and they go off sick the main business can suffer.

However the biggest at risk is INTU - not Covid-19 related but given what has happened in the High Street a virtual High Street cannot sustain £2bn losses.

My Magicpole Kissogram venture isn't looking as if it has a bright future. That's for sure. Palmestry Salon taking a punch too.

Melbourne Grand prix has just been cancelled, there are 12000 self employed support workers I guess they will lose their income.
