Buying a Static Caravan

I am looking to buy one for me, the wife and nippers.

Anyone recommend a good site, with amenities onsite?

Appreciate this will bump up the rent, but will be worth it.

Reckon £10k should get me a good one, or even less.

Had a look at a couple of sites in Ullswater and Ambleside, which looked great.

Not overly fussed whereabouts...went to one in Skeggy last year for a long weekend and the kids loved it.

So am I mate. Went and looked at st David's in anglesey the other day. Lovely spot. Cheapest was 17k. Going to keep looking. I can justify 10k like you and maybe 2.5k rent per year. Thinking somewhere in Wales rather than the lakes

I know a few blues,who have one each in Talacre Beach,North Wales,I been it's sound,and that should be plenty to get yourself a good un as well

Be warned though,as with most of North Wales,there is a fair influx of dippers to be heard and seen !!

when i was selling these many years ago 10k would've got you a brand new fully stocked 30 footer on the best site in the South of France.

Marton Mere , on the outskirts of Blackpool , is a great site ......there's plenty of amusements for the kids onsite , and there's also large nature reserve/lake there .... so peaceful at times , we absolutely loved the place.

Only three miles to Blackpool seafront too ..... and you could be back at the Etihad in just over a hour!

As a kid I stayed at one called Palin's in Towyn, North Wales. Probably nothing great but loved it as a child. Had a pub/Mexican restaurant, place to play football, bit of a park, on site indoor swimming pool, etc.

Failing that, Waterside in Paignton, Devon

for me save the 1000s of pounds in rent and buying the caravan and spend it on going to different sites and hire someones static
If you buy your own youre stuck to the same site
Martyn mere is excellent so is Primrose Valley

Had one in North Wales up until last year , weather and prices made us sell up .
Been to Skegness a couple of times since and would buy one there if I was going to do it again as the weather seems to be a bit drier,there are lots of really nice places to visit within close proximity.

don't bother in this country. get one in france, worth the drive.
