Buying Away Tickets from MCFC

In other news the ticket information on the new website is absolutely shite

I was lay in bed on Tuesday wondering about the Swansea tickets so I thought I'd check on sales site.
And there they were, on sale tomorrow

But the fixtures part is even worse
Neither the Academy or MCWFC have any fixtures left in 2016-17
At least you had the sense to check the ticket section, it was only a post in this thread I saw last night that made me aware they were on sale and I'd been checking the home page of the club website each day.

I'd say two of those three are accurate.
Let's put it this way, one of my mates had had his card used, he's on my friends and family, and he had no intention of going and didn't even know it had been used

Every response you've had to your supporters clubs/tickets posts say they get an allocation, irrespective of members points. The issue seemed to be they would get their allocation then get members with points to apply for their own to "top up" how many the supporters club can take, or have I missed something.

Do they apply based on points for extra tickets too, or is their allocation also based on points and they're then getting members to reapply?

In light of the complaints seen in other threads about the difficulty in finding information regarding away ticket news and information since City established the new site, I thought that this was a topic worthy of a thread of its own - possibly with the hope of getting noticed by the right people so changes can be made.

Here is what greets me when I try to access the trendy new site on an IPad:

It's the same on both Safari and Firebox browsers.

Absolutely impossible to natigate, and impossible to find news and information on tickets before they go on sale on the seperate website.

A Google search with the key words re Swansea away tickets and the name of the new site doesn't even come up with a web address.

The site is an absolute steaming pile of shite, and it needs a major overhaul - in my humble opinion.

Anyone know when tickets for our League Cup tie in Swansea go on sale by the way?

Just proves that Wix is a shitty site, where you create a bare-minimum website, if you have no real website creation knowledge, because it's easy to put shit together at Wix.

So reading this, supporters clubs are a ticket pool utilising members who have high points? This seems to go against the LOYALTY points system, which if I remember was setup to reward fans who ATTEND games; not purchase tickets? If this is correct it should be stopped.

I know there are arguments groups want to SIT together but if you have the points you can arrange this by purchasing the tickets at the same time (friends and family). Pre-allocation of tickets to supporters Clubs stops other loyal supports getting tickets direct from the club. City should call a halt to this.

The supporter clubs ticket allocation is a sham and should be stopped.

I maybe wrong?

I tend to see posts like yours stadiumcat a few times a season that coincides with very popular aways. It's a valid view but what happens much more often is that the Club can't sell our away ticket allocations even on open sale. The Supporters Clubs will have been given some of the tickets they asked for earlier on and then are asked to take more at the last minute.

A good example of this is Paris away in the Quarter Finals of the Champs League. Where were our army of Supporters to sell out the away end at high points. Not many could get to Bucharest and I respect that but Paris and a Champs League quarter final??

It is clear that some personal grievances come into the reporting of Sipporters Clubs and ticket allocations. One Supporters Club I have read being criticised on here a few times (who I have no allegiance to) consist of members who go home and aways year in and year out. I see them at ever game and their members must have close to 20,000 points.m or more. They would get their Derby tickets whatever sallocation system was used.

They would indeed get those tickets if their points are at that level but there are also people with high points who don't belong to clubs. We had this out on here a while ago and the system was clarified beyond doubt. Clubs ask for a number of tickets and are told how many they will get before tickets go on sale to supporters through normal channels. Clubs then allocate those tickets as they see fit; some have defined criteria, such as meetings attended or doing it on a rota basis, and some abuse the process. At least one branch, possibly two, were under investigation for this. I know of one branch that hasn't met for ages and is, to all intent, dormant from that point of view yet still applies for and gets tickets.

The branch then tell the club which supporter numbers get the points and there are documented cases where a supporter number has been used without the supporter's permission or knowledge (presumably to allocate a ticket to someone who doesn't even have a number). I know that official advice has gone out from the OSC telling branches that demand is high and that fans with enough points should apply through the normal channels (thereby implying that tickets allocated to clubs should be given to those that don't).

What you are saying is that we will sell out Swansea away in the league cup because the Club has asked the supporters clubs to take more tickets; really? This is your argument for supporters clubs getting inflated ticket allocations at other fixtures?

The point is that on a REGULAR basis loyal City fans on reasonably high LOYALTY points are being leapfrogged by supporter club members with lower points. This needs addressing as it goes against the LOYALTY point’s scheme.

The reasoned argument that members of supporter clubs on high points would get tickets anyway under their own points is fine. Let them do that then via the friends and family option, what is wrong with this?

Get one thing straight; I personally don’t have an issue getting tickets as I have over 20,000 points and will be at the Derby.

I'm not disputing the process as much as wanting o give Bluemooners a better feel for the outcomes. In my Supporters Club, we have 60 season card holders. Six asked to go to the Derby on Saturday and we were allocated three tickets. I expect us to get the nine we have asked for at Spurs away because seats would be empty otherwise.

As I've posted before, I would make the away Derby Allocation by ticket points only. This is the only fixture fans feel is consistently unfair. We Didnt sell out Liverpool away last season, for example.

Supporters Clubs ensure genuine supporters get to the games IMHO. Contrast that with West Ham away last season when a lot of faces not seen in donkeys years turned up for their last visit to Upton Park. Presumably they have still been picking up their loyalty points as individuals by passing on tickets to friends and family.

Loyalty points ensure genuine supporters get to games. Abuse by both clubs and fans should be dealt with by the club. The rags don't allocate tickets to clubs and have a system of random ticket pick-ups at away games whereby a percentage of fans that have received tickets have to prove their identity. It's about time we followed suit.

No mate. Your first point has nothing to do with what I posted. We won't sell out Swnasea away in the Cup because it's too far to go to South Wales twice in four days. We don't always sell out at places like Sunderland, Norwich, Southampton etc as you'll know from having 20,000 loyalty points. Btw Supporters Clubs haven't eradicated global poverty either lol.

The introduction of the passport / ID checks for European away days has clarified where much of the ticket abuses lay and its vindicated supporters clubs. It's still A shame that we couldn't sell out Paris away but we just don't have enough fans who wanted to go to this game.

Anyway, let's hope we get 3 points at the swamp.

It would not mean any extra fans get to go because of their points, it would just allow another 10% to go out the back door to supporters clubs, Joes , players and staff friends and family, the Women's Team (only if it is a really big game), a few hundred Belgians etc, and the remaining third go to loyalty points. The erosion of tickets to loyalty points is the bigger issue.

That's certainly another big issue. It won't be long before our away ends are full of men in suits with their twin-set and pearl adorned wives who sit down for 90 minutes and clap politely, plus a load of people who don't speak English or speak it with a foreign accent).

Agreed, a game where you don't notice the ref and 3 points. Come on City!

Home end then?

I was near the corner flag. Used to be Utd regular season ticket holders but now it's the half and half scar brigade (down to the left from where we stand)

Boss was on holiday so used his season tickets.
