Question: would Man City be able to buy Rooney out of the transfer window but not play him in any competative games for the club?

I'm not sure abohut Rooney to be honest, but the Rags have an unhappy player on their books who wants to be elsewhere. Chances are that they wont play him again if he really has made up his mind to go, so what do they do, pay him to do nothing or can they ship him out to us or another European side?

MLF.

I think he can change employer any time, but can't be registered in any competitions until the window. I don't know - this is just what would make sense to me.

yes, but we would be paying him 250 million a week just to train, plus we would be saving utd from having to pay him for the same period while he sulks on their bench

the understanding i have of the window is you can buy the player agree a contact BUT the transfer of the player to the club can only be done during the window... having said that i wouldnt have rooney anyway hes a disloyal typical scouse who wants as much money as he can coz he knows that colleen is going to find another man with a bigger cock ( or who is a bigger cock) than him and is going to take half his earnings so the more money he earns now the safer he thinks he will be ... i hope he rots in uniteds reserves until the end of his contract

CTID!!

HATE UNITED, LOVE GLAZER FOR EVER

Chippy, don't forget his win bonus and the end of season party bonus. That's going to add up to a couple of tanker's worth.

Listen, you are being sold a rag bill of goods on this one. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what Rooney has done. He was promised things that never materialised, he was told when he raised that issue that nothing would change and he'd have to live with it and he is now being vilified for seeking to better himself with a better squad of players and the most ambitious football club on the planet. Oh yeah, and he'll probably double his income.

He's not a rag. United's pathetic sense of entitlement is grating enough without blues joining in. This is down to Glazier and their sock puppets Gill and Fergie.
