Buying the league?

Bit soon for us I think but that is Fosun's aim certainly within the next couple of years, who am I to argue!

There have been rumours about JF for a while, it seems a bit bizarre to be honest especially as we cannot offer Champions League football but Jorge Mendes is the key and he moves in mysterious ways. The fact we signed Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota when we were in the Championship then Portuguese legends Rui Patricio and Joao Moutinho makes us believe anything is possible with Fosun and Mendes.
As long as Jorge doesn't get too mysterious and think the eye gouging **** is a step up on Nuno!

Thanks Karen that's kind, we are still pinching ourselves at this point. I guess other clubs might say that we finished 7th and lost to Watford in a semi, so what but we can see the bigger picture. We play the best football we have ever seen, have a fantastic manager and super ambitous owners who want the world and are prepared to get it. But then we also lost twice to HUDDERSFIELD!!
7th and a semi final is not to be scoffed at for a newly promoted team despite any advantages you had with recruitment. I find it refreshing the way Wolves have approached this too many newly promoted teams see reaching the premier league and scrapping to stay in there as the summit of their ambitions which is understandable to a point considering the riches on offer. But it is not all about spending money it's how you spend it, having a plan on the pitch and a structure off it, which you lot have. Case in point Fulham who pushed the boat out massively yet finished 29 points behind you and went down and similarly with us the rags whose overall squad cost is not too dissimilar to ours yet finished 32 points adrift.

Spot on mate

I do like the respect shown to us by your fans not just on here but when we took you close in the cup a couple of years ago and also the season just gone when we drew with you at Molineux (I was in hospitality that day and met some of the players!), I also find City fans to be knowledgeable on the game and interested in other clubs. Can't say the same about fans of some of the other big clubs who are dismissive of us and snipe about Mendes rather than acknowledging the bigger picture

Sorry for these being scouse examples it came up at work so figured fresh in head.

Neymer @ 222m was 42% of PSG turnover crazy yes but Liverpool 1995 annual declared turnover £19.8m wife beater 8.5m, that’s = 43% they set the bench mark of acceptability in crazy transfers!
1989 the scousers wages and transfer spend was 138% of turnover and they nearly won the league but for Thomas , 1991 they took net transfer spend and wages to 172% of turnover. During the Moore’s years they had a net spend of 87m ish roughly what he invested as the owner when he sold for £88m. Total bullshit from the media. If anyone is interested take a look at their 1991 return of 3.5m wages upped to 6.1m on the 1992 return for the previous year. 57% discrepancy

Don't mention the handball, you robbed us of points!

See my post on the Wolves thread Karen. They have stated that they aim to compete with the top clubs for top players this summer. They are the real deal and not prepared to stand still. This season was good but in their words, they didn't buy Wolves to finish 7th. This is just the start and they are already making big inroads into China (all our games are screened live there), Mexico as we signed Mexican national hero Raul Jimenez and of course, Portugal!

They are also investing heavily in the infrastructure of the club with big improvements to the training ground, laying replica pitches to the Molineux playing surfaces and plans to rebuild Molineux as a 50K seater. We have a waiting list of 5K for season tickets alone!
A title race with wolves in 2021/22 would certainly be a lot more pleasant than this years, your owners do sound like the real deal! I think if they had a time machine to 2009\10 having just brought you they might well how gone down a similar path to ours with the top loaded investment on not the best just to bridge the gap quicker. I'll certainly be putting £50 on you finishing above the rags so hope you have a good summer and enjoy your European adventures. I know the UEFA cup gets knocked in the msm but as an away fan they are amazingly experiences to be savoured. I certainly enjoyed them more than must chumps league trips and doubt I am alone with those sentiments.
