why are City making it so difficult/expensive to do this? eg the Europa Cup Tie on 26th August

1. why no online sales? if we have an online sales service why can you only use it for league games? ( i see it was the same for the Valencia game) - last season you could buy cup tickets online!!! a backward step?

2. why can't you get tickets in the Arndale store anymore? again you could last year - this was convenient to a lot of people who work/shop in the city centre

3. the only options this year are either ring a prmium rate phone line and be charged £2 per ticket booking fee ( in my case an extra £6 for our family to go) or drive out to COMS which would take a couple of hours of my time + petrol

4. pay on the night but be charged £25 instead of £15 (£10 instead of £5 for kids) thereby costing me an extra £25!!!

it seems to me City are making it more and more inconveient and /or expensive to buy cup tickets - do they not want to fill the ground?

not much use in my case as I have 2 adult seasoncards but like to take my daughter who's in Live4City to the early round home cup games

Agreed, I was thinking the same. I usually buy all cup tickets online but for Valencia I had to ring up which cost £2 per ticket. I know it's only £2 but it adds up over the season and makes you wonder why it is actually costing £2 because all I am doing is reserving my seasoncard seats.

Maybe I'm missing something and if there's a good reason for it then fair enough but seems a bit puzzling to me and seems like its just a hidden cost?!

exactly , there's no postage cost or ticket printing cost

+ the money they get from you ringing an 087 number

it really cheeses me off having to pay the booking fee
i often phone for five tickets by one phone call, with one credit card, to one address but get charged £10 in booking fees

no they want you to join the cup scheme

Good point, suppose that is a valid reason but I still like the online reservations of seasoncard seats. That way I know if I can afford each game when ticket details and prices are released.

-- Tue Aug 10, 2010 11:39 am --

Same with ticketmaster though, cheeky bastards charge for booking fees and mailing. Sure I even bought some tickets on ticketmaster and had to pay to print off some online ticket thing! Think they saw me coming..

It's fucking stupid. They go to all this effort with all these ideas trying to improve and encourage people to attend games and then they just make it really awkward and force us to pay extra money when buying tickets. Last season I just ordered them online, got to pick the exact seats I wanted for no extra cost, happy days.

It just discourages people to attend

i joined the cup scheme for the first time last year when it finally dawned on me that at each round i was paying an extra tenner just to book the tickets
then lo and behold we got a home cup tie when we were on holiday!
