BWSL City vs Arsenal 11/02 Match Thread

So different from the game few days ago against the same team.

Yes would have been nice if we saw more chances converted, but this is the best performance I’ve seen against a good opponent.

Overall great energy and passing much more decisive, everyone not taking a lot of time to make the next play — and they look like they trust each other with the passes, which wasn’t always the case IMO.

And great support from the home crowd too.
 
One thing different is Hasegawa going higher up to join the high press.

Must have been a tactical decision coming from the coach because it’s risky leaving the deeper mid open if you get caught off guard, she wouldn’t do it unless she was given permission to.

In the second half we can anticipate Arsenal perhaps going for the long ball to evade the press. We need to be prepared for that as well.
 
I haven’t watched them for ages. Overall I feel the standard has dropped since they were at their best. Shaw is very frustrating. I do like Hasewaga in midfield though. She looks a fine player.
 
Did we play ok first half? The reason I ask is tgat I’ve just switched on and every single word from the “commentary team” was about how unusually bad arsenal were
 
Angeldahl was excellent in the first 45 - glad that she is managing to get games after spending much of her first year on the fringes. Good performance all round but boy do Arsenal look terrible. Only chance we lose this is if we make simple mistakes at the back.
 
No Andy, WE (the club you used to play for) are 2 0 up. Had arsenal scored it wouldn’t have then been 2 1 arsenal
