Quite let write off a kid at the age of 15, all signings have a risk, the younger the more difficult it is to predict.

Cost £1.5m

Possible upsides
- Becomes a first team regular
- Does well up to EDS but not quite to first team level - sold for £18.5-£38.5m
- Doesnt work out, released for zero.

So possible downside £1.5m loss - possible upside £20-£40m in profit and possibly a first team regular.

Obviously loads to be negative about in the signing! :-/

You don't think someone saying that a 15 year old will "never get a sniff" of the first team when he's watched exactly 0 footage of him is negative?

He could be the next Messi for all they know. He's not, but he could have been.

Being negative doesn't mean that you're wrong, we have got form for buying and selling and IMO this is exactly what this is.

I'm just waiting for the next club the City group buy so I can boast to all of my non City mates that we are considerably richer than they are.

I don't think it's overtly negative. I can't speak for him, but we've seen enough over the past 10 years to know how many get through the academy and into our first team squad for it to be a legitimate point.

I'd have to look this up but I would reckon in terms of being in the first team squad, City probably have one of the best records in the league. Not becoming regulars obviously, although we do have Foden, Lewis, O'Reilly and McAtee who all played minutes last year to greater or lesser degrees (and Bobb got injured), but we do promote a lot.

Here's the amount of debuts we've given to Academy guys since 2015 according to Wiki:
