I don't rate him but he played quite decent last night. He's just not good enough for where we want to go, that's all and I wish him all the best when I expect him to leave in the summer.

I think we often play a lot lot better with him in the side, and looking fit. Look at Hull at Christmas, Villa the other week, coming on at WBA and Santander.

He looked like he pulled up just before half time, then we come out in the second half and he didn't look quite fit, we slowed down.

Maybe he just suffers from the Emile Heskey problem, he looks too awkward and slow to stand out, but does the job the likes of Robby, Bellamy, Ireland, SWP etc aren't built to do

Drogba isn't fast..doesn't need to be, because he doesn't chase balls over the top a la Bellamy/Agbonlahor etc. It's holding up the ball that he does, which he needs strength for.

I will agree Phil looks slower than a Drogba/Carew type player, but jesus christ, some of the negativity on here is laughable.

If big Phil could rely on the same dominance in the front line that Drogba, and to a lesser extent Carew, have on the ground and even moreso in the air, his pace would not be an issue either.

But he is not that type of dominant force.

He's a decent sort, but for me, not good enough for what we need now.
