I'd be spending too much exploring the area, skiing and shit. then I'd whizz over to inside passage at every given opportunity. no time for footy.

Oh I see. Well the great thing about watching footy over here is most games start at 8.00am, so you can watch the games and still do all that. I ski every weekend but still get to watch city.
Also, you don't know what you've got til it's gone. I grew up in manc and was a season ticket holder through the shit. To see what's going on and only be able to get to one game a year is tough and to not get immersed now would be torture.
