...but I actually have more affinity for the club when they lose. And I'm one of those plastic, American supporters.

And for the record:
1) i don't like losing - in anything.
2) not a rag.
3) getting up at 6:30AM this morning to watch that was rough.

It's some sort of defeatist, just deserts, underdog syndrome. I have less affinity now to City than I ever have..(because we are EXPECT£D to win every game) for many reasons. I still like to see us win... but I also like/don't mind to see teams beat us fairly.

If we are beaten fair and square i can live with it no problem, but yesterday was a kick in the balls with those decisions, and that i fine very hard to live with.

The second half capitulation was of much more concern to me.

Ref decisions are part and parcel of the game , our first goal was line ball but we defended poorly to enable Spurs to capitalise on the bit of good fortune to equalise and that is being somewhat overlooked.

We defended like a pub team once again in the second half and deserved to lose this game to a side we should be beating if we harbour any serious thoughts about being the number one side in the premiership.

How are side at the top level can concede four goals in half and hour against a side that has struggled to score all season almost defies belief.

Chelsea got battered there last season and went on to win the league.
It was only our 7th league game and it was spuds cup final.
Way too early to start flapping.
Lets see where we are after 11 or 12 league games. We could be top this time next week.
Roll on Wednesday.

Yeah, could've been a totally different story if their first had been ruled offside. No way would it have ended up 4-1.

Bananas.... I hated losing when we were shite and I mean proper shite and I hate losing now.
Spoils my weekend.
Some city fans (and i'm not saying you pal) are only happy when we lose as it gives em something to whinge about...

Careful posting stuff van Gaal era will be voyouring what you say then returning to rag cafe to regurgitate it to his mates from Milton Keynes and Dublin.

Christ that was shocking yesterday you think with a midfield of Fernando and Fernandhino we would be harder to break down, then we concede 3 goals in a half.

We can moan about off side for some of those goals but the dog shit defending that got us there in the first place needs looking at. When are vinny and Spanish Dave back?

LOL. You actually have the mental attributes that were perfect for surviving as a local, match going fan, of the late '90s. You are indeed a "proper" Blue. There was a masochist pleasure of sorts to be had from looking at the league tables and seeing that we were the sixth best team or whatever in Greater Manchester yet still setting attendance records in the third tier. There was pride in those days that we'd stuck by our club in our darkest hour. It was something previous generations hadn't been tested in to the same degree. We never wanted to be in that position and please God they never return but yes, if you've more affinity when we lose, then you're crazy enough to be a City fan. That's not to say we don't want to win.The title win in 2012 was I guess the vindication of all that had gone before and was deeply emotional. If you were a rag you wouldn't have started a thread like this. They simply don't understand what being a fan is all about.

We got our grounding from years like this......but believe me when i say....after 35 fucking years the novelty starts to wear off a bit!!!
