Callum Doyle | On loan at Leicester City

Pep likes Lee Johnson's football philosophy and he did say after the League cup semi-final against Bristol City he would like to loan some of our Academy kids to Johnson because he trusted him. I like the idea of a two year loan it's beneficial for Callum and Sunderland. I genuinely hope they are prompted this season and back in the Premier League asap, where they belong.
Good to know, however unfortunately it is only a one year loan. Hopefully we go up and can get him back for a season in a the Championship !

The kid did great, and will undoubtedly start every week for us, unless Johnson has a brain fart, which he is very capable of.

Any one else you can lend us?

Tommy Doyle great midfield prospect would benefit from a run in a more robust league rather than the odd cup appearance for us or in the none contact eds league.

This crop is the group that has been at the club since the investment arrived. In my opinion, there are several really top-quality players, potentially capable of making it to our first team and certainly PL level. There is not a lot that would bring me more joy than to see a player like this, along with Palmer, McAtee, and Tommy in our first team, regularly; they have blue in their veins, just like us.

Plenty

Waiting to see if Pep keeps his word about promotion/integration though.

Liam Delap and Tommy Doyle would be obvious choices.

A good loan for the lad, let's hope he is successful, like City they are too big for that division really and it should be good for him, learn to handle the pressure of expectation etc
We should be but have made quite the mess over the last 5 years. Desperate to get out of that league and I know you lads will understand that better than most - having been there I’m sure it makes your current success all the sweeter

On Callum Doyle, he looks a special special talent. I know it’s only 1 game and a friendly but sometimes you just see a player who is going to have a massive future and yesterday I did just that. Really looking forward to watching him next season and hope he can help us escape league 1.

Good luck for next season - as other Sunderland fans have said on this thread we’ve always had a lot of time for your supporters.
